A former Peace Corps volunteer, and originally from South Sacramento, I have extensive experience working within the nonprofit arena and promoting community change.
With a strong desire to empower others, I have focused my career on managing community and leadership development initiatives with local, national and international organizations in the United States, Europe and Africa, and have worked with local and federal agencies, universities and healthcare companies. I have a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from the University of California, and a MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Following several years in Washington, DC and abroad, I returned to Sacramento to be close to my family. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2007 and now, while I am on disability, I have decided that I can continue to fulfill my passion to help both individuals and communities develop as a teacher and a tutor (even from a wheelchair or walker).
