Originally from California, I spent much of my academic career there, earning my B.A. in Psychology at San Francisco State University and starting graduate studies in Psychology (Behavioral Neuroscience focus) at Sacramento State University. Since moving to Fort Collins, Colorado in 2011, I have obtained an M.S. at Colorado State University with the focus of my studies and research being Cognitive Psychology. I have taught small labs and lecture courses at CSU for the past four years as a grad student, where the main skill objectives for the classes were: writing APA style, psychology concepts, designing and conducting research, and analyzing research using statistics. I have also had opportunities to teach high school students during a few different summer programs, teaching such topics as Sleep and Dreaming, and The Brain. I enjoy mentoring students as well and have had many discussions with undergraduate research assistants about preparing and applying for grad school, GREs, writing personal statements, etc. Outside of academia, I love to get outdoors, either hiking and climbing in the summer, or snowboarding in the winter.Thank you! I look forward to meeting and getting to know you and helping you through your studies to get you to your academic goals!

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Houston. I am currently on track to get a major in Biochemistry and a minor in French. I chose to pursue this major because I am very passionate about studying concepts such as human physiology and pathophysiology. In terms of my minor, I have studied French for approximately 8 years and will be studying abroad in France this upcoming summer. Outside of academia, I enjoy reading, learning languages, and traveling. I enjoy these hobbies because all of them give me the chance to experience many different aspects of the reality I am familiar with. I tutor Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, French, Elementary School Math, and ACT Reading. Although I enjoy tutoring these subjects, my favorite would have to be French. This is because it is a very beautiful language, and I believe acquiring a new language is a very useful skill, as you never quite know when it might come in handy. I enjoy tutoring students, because I understand the difference education can make in a person's life. Furthermore, I believe that everyone deserves the opportunities that come with doing your very best to pursue a better future. Thus, I want to help as many students as possible to not feel distressed and overwhelmed by the pressures of school. Rather, I want them to overcome their anxiety and understand that anyone can achieve their goals if they put in the effort.

My interest in educating students dates back to my years in high school, when all I wanted to do is work with my peers in assisting them with their studies. Throughout my high school career, I was involved in multiple opportunities that allowed for me to foster my skills as I was part of the Drama club, School Leadership committee, Music Scholars as well as an graduate of the Inroads Business Program. It seemed only logical that I pursue a career in education, as my background was so eclectic. When I began my undergraduate career, I had the opportunity to be exposed to the full range of education courses, all of which tended to reinforce and solidify my intense interest in teaching. I've also had the opportunity to study a number of subjects in the social sciences and they have been both enjoyable and enlightening, providing me with a new and different perspective on the world in which we live.In the realm of education, I have plethora of experiences. My career began by receiving my BA in education. I taught Elementary Education with my focus in early literacy, comprehension and fluency. A few years later, I began my Masters in Counseling. I worked successfully as an elementary counselor until I received my Ed. Specialist in Leadership and Superintendency. I have been in a leadership role for 9 years. Four of the nine years were at the High School Level, which was a tremendously great experience. Of course, my plans to enter a doctoral program are near.I have developed a special interest in the field of education and school leadership and have even been tasked with taking on a building of over 700 students and 70 staff this coming school year. I have been effective at building solid student, teacher and parent relationships. I have met the challenge of holding teachers accountable for their students learning in turn being a part of student growth and success. I can identify, teach, and coach the Common Core standards for elementary students as well as transfer my knowledge of effective research based strategies to meet the college and career standards.

I graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry and Business Administration. I am now working at Walgreens as a Pharmacy Technician.I enjoy tutoring students in Math, Chemistry, and Biology. I particularly like these subjects because any upper level math or science class requires a strong foundation in these subjects to be successful. Oftentimes, when students choose a major in math and science they want to go on to graduate school, which requires a thorough understanding of these subjects.

I am currently working on an MA at Columbia University Teacher's College, and have a BA in English from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. I spent last year tutoring 5th graders in literacy and math through AmeriCorps, and I plan to use my degree to encourage elementary and middle school students to love and appreciate literature as much as I do.I love tutoring because I feel that individual attention is an important facet of the learning process. By working one-on-one with students tutors can learn more about students' interests and learning styles, and incorporate them into the tutoring process. Academic subjects can be so much more interesting for students if they feel that the subject has a direct impact on their lives. I love it when a student's face lights up with the realization that she truly understands the concept on which we are working. These kinds of realizations inspire confidence in students, a feeling which only leads to greater learning and achievements in the future.

I'm dedicated to education and making a difference in the lives of students of all ages. I have been tutoring a variety of subjects including Algebra 1 and 2, French, Computer Science, Public Speaking, Reading, and Writing. My favorite subject to tutor is French.I have an MBA from the University at Albany and a BA in French from Oswego, NY with a concentration in Computer Science. I also studied Spanish and Italian. I was determined to excel in my French studies so I studied abroad in Paris at the Sorbonne. I loved living in Paris and developed a stronger sense about the language and the French culture. The pastry shops were amazing and the food absolutely delicious. I go back to Europe as often as possible.I enjoy traveling and lived in Europe for nearly four years. Each time I travel, I make sure I do something I really enjoy such as horseback riding, hiking, roller blading, ice skating, snow boarding, or running. I also enjoy the arts and visit the museums, concerts, and the theater. Musically, I play the violin and tinker with the piano. I also make sure that I have time to just relax and read a good book or spend some time in from of the TV. I believe in living a well balanced life.In order to maintain a good life, I spend a great deal of time in the outdoors walking my yellow lab. She is a very sweet dog and is on her way to becoming a service dog. Spending time in the outdoors and tutoring are a great combination and very rewarding.

I have passion for languages learning, not only through many years of my own experience, but also through tutoring others.
