I recently graduated from Vassar College as an English and history double major with honors in the former. I have worked as a Teacher's Assistant at Vassar College as well as at the Montclair Art Museum summer program for children. I often worked one on one with students improving their proficiency in Spanish. I am a published poet and playwright, a standup comedian, and a jazz guitarist. I hope to share my passion for literature, modern history, the Spanish language, and more with students in person in New York City!

I just graduated from William and Mary, and I am going to be attending Georgetown Medical School in the fall! I absolutely love science and try to translate that passion into my tutoring. I tutor elementary through college math and science and can also help out with MCAT and ACT test prep. I believe in finding ways of presenting material that fit each student's learning style and making math and science fun.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in history with highest honors, I am now beginning a Masters/PhD Program in history at the University of Connecticut to further develop my historical research and writing skills. I have a great passion for helping students, which developed during my undergraduate years, especially while working as a Supplemental Instruction Leader (group study session leader) for history. I worked with students on a range of topics including not only historical content, but essay writing, time management, and test preparation as well. I thus tutored many college students during my senior year, and upon graduating in May 2014, became the Coordinator of that program, supervising 25-30 tutors each semester.My passion is education, hence my decision to pursue a graduate degree in history to further my teaching abilities. I find the research, writing, historical analysis, and teaching involved in my graduate program to be both demanding and rewarding. As a former AmeriCorps volunteer, placed in the Metro DC ReadingCorps program, I work at a high needs elementary school in Southeast DC, and as such have really developed hands-on and behavioral management skills with children. Furthermore, I focused on early literacy skills and teaching techniques that I believe make me a good tutor.My literacy tutor training combined with both my undergraduate degree in English and graduate degree in Gender Policy, makes me a good tutor because I have both the teaching experience and the academic knowledge to help those who need it. As I am a certified Life and Transitional Coach that has experience in working in group home settings, court facilitated settings, schools, and private home based.
