Hello there! I am an aspiring dentist currently in my second year of dental school at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. As an undergraduate, I dual majored in Neuroscience and Biology at Emory University. I absolutely love working with students of all ages, especially in middle and high school. I have had tutoring experience since I was in high school. I believe students learn best when taught by a peer with a thorough understanding of the subject at hand. I prefer to guide the student through the learning experience by teaching them the concepts behind each problem. Problem solving can be approached from many directions and I respect how each person approaches and solves a problem. I am looking forward to working closely with parents and students to develop a lesson plan catered to each student to help them do better in school and feel more self-confident about their scholastic achievements.

Teach for America (TFA) is an AmeriCorps program that recruits, trains, and places top college graduates in high needs schools throughout the country. During my time with TFA, I taught a variety of science courses in my placement high school, including state tested biology. I am a certified biology and social studies teacher for grades 7-12. My time teaching has been both rewarding and challenging. One of my focuses as a lead science teacher was to work with students on college readiness. From ACT prep to rigorous lab based science instruction, we saw students grow five points on the ACT and increased the pass rate on the state exam. As my time with Teach for America comes to an end, I am excited to continue my commitment to education with Varsity Tutors. Currently I am working on a Master’s in Public Health at Emory University.

All you need to do is study with me, and we will get you to where you want to be. I know studying is hard, so I try to make it as bearable as possible, but I also know that practice makes perfect. I want to give you lots of practice problems to work on each concept! I also have taken AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Macroeconomics, AP Statistics, AP European History, AP World History, AP Literature, and AP Language. I am studying at UGA in the Honors College getting a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and an MS in comparative biomedical sciences. I do work in a pharmacy and can answer any questions on your premed path!

I am a recent college graduate who is excited to share my hard-earned knowledge with students in need of help. I majored in a Geography and Economics with an emphasis on urban studies and quantitative analysis, but the academic skills and concepts from those disciplines apply to a large number of social science fields. I think that education at its best is a collaborative experience between students and teachers to meet the students' goals, and I approach tutoring with that same mindset. I will work with students to help them define their goals and then act as a coach and mentor to help them achieve.In general, I'm a cheery, extroverted guy. I love talking to people about just anything, but Economics and my cat are my favorite topics. In my more introverted moments, I play video games, watch Netflix, and read all kinds of books. I also keep up to date on the world around me by reading the NYTimes and Wall Street Journal during the quiet moments of the day and by reading a "smart" non-fiction book every once in a while. Most of all though, I spend my time thinking about interesting problems and solutions because I am fortunate to truly love what I do.
