I am a linguistics graduate student at Boston University. I earned two undergraduate degrees from the University of Connecticut in Cognitive Science and Linguistics, and have enjoyed tutoring all through my educational career. I have been tutoring since high school in a variety of different subjects and every experience has been unique and fulfilling. From middle and high school students to college students, I love the challenge of finding the best way to make a concept make sense to a student and learning about all of the new and different ways that a problem can be looked at and understood. I have a B.A. in English from U.C. Berkeley, but also have advanced degrees in International Museum Studies and Forced Migration. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Geography.

I am a graduate of Boston University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Biology, and a Pre-Medical concentration. Given this, my academic knowledge is obviously eclectic. In the past few years following my education, I have discovered a passion for teaching and currently work as an Instructor for Seven Hills Foundation. I have a straight-forward teaching philosophy which applies to each student as an individual learner. This helps to identify and clarify misunderstandings in the process rather than stumbling over information. I am able to teach in English and Writing, as well as across most maths and sciences, including Organic/Inorganic Chemistry, Biology, Statistics, Algebra, and Calculus. I strongly believe in lifelong learning, and try to practice that philosophy daily. My other passion is music, as I play guitar and piano. Otherwise, I enjoy spending time with friends and simple moments of relaxation.

I have always been an excellent student from High School to College, and I sure have been asked many times to provide tutoring in academic settings. I have always been involved in helping others on the path of education, whether friends , relatives or others unbeknownst to be me personally. That I had done before I ever provided tutoring in exchange for compensation for the first time in response to a parent who had approached me with a failing son in English. Now of course I have tutored my son and daughter thru high school and coached them for the SAT tests. They went on to earn one a BS in Computer Science and the other an MBA at prestigious schools.Here I specialize in math, science, Spanish and French. I will cover all math topics up to pre-calculus. I hold French Baccalaureates I and II. I hold a professorial certification for Spanish as a Second Language. I have taught English as a Second Language for 2 years. I am fluent in English, Spanish and French, and have published both in French and English. As an Engineering student, I became a lifetime member of PHI THETA KAPPA, attesting to my academic excellence in education at the 2-year college level. I had also been nominated to the National Deans' list several times.I prefer to focus my tutoring directly on the problem areas for students, and give direct help with homeworks. Watching another person undergo the "AHA" moment is one of the best experiences, I believe, someone can have.I have taught briefly at the high school level and assisted at the graduate level, and I have found that I am skilled at adjusting and catering my teaching abilities to students with different past experiences that require different ways of learning. I am currently a practicing biostatistician and a PhD student in biostatistics at the University of Massachusetts, at Amherst.I am excited about the opportunity to help others learn.

I am triple majoring in Mechatronics Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Instrumentation Electrical Engineering, and Photonics Electrical Engineering. I have tutored students before from ages 5-18. I tutor in a wide variety of subjects, but I am most passionate about math and science. I have experience helping students who are neurodivergent and/or have learning disabilities. I myself have ADHD and I've gathered an arsenal of different learning habits that students can try if they have difficulty with executive function. My goal is to make students feel like they have more control over their education by helping them discover their learning styles and identifying study strategies that they can use in the future. In my free time I like to see new places, play video games, code, and work on crafts/projects.
