Since then, I have been working to get into the education field more and aspire to gain my Master's degree in Education and become a teacher. I have also passed the GACE (Georgia Assessment of the Certification of Educators) and hope, with my Master's degree, to obtain full certification. I have had great success in tutoring at the college level as well as the primary level and have experience in working with age groups from about 5-10, 12-14, and 17-25 in all of the subjects as listed above. While I am apt in all of these subjects, I find that my favorites to tutor are literature and creating/editing essays. I believe what helps me in being successful in my tutoring is that I like to get an understanding of my students and discover what interest and hobbies they have. This allows me to relate the teaching material to what they enjoy and also find out what the root of the issue is for them to learn the material. This way it, makes learning more fun than it normally would. This also helps them get an understanding of me, and the things that I enjoy which are basketball, video games, music (multiple genres), writing, politics, Marvel, DC, movies, swimming, amusement parks, and bowling. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola University Chicago with a B.S. in Biology in May 2013. My tutor experience ranges over five years total. The most recent experience I had was being a Biology and Chemistry tutor at Loyola's Center for Tutoring and Academic Excellence. My job entailed facilitating collaborative learning groups that allowed students to discuss topics, problem solve and overcome academic difficulties. My philosophy is not to teach or lecture students. I like to serve as a guide to fill in missing information to help the student realize the answers. They have all the knowledge they need, it is just a matter of discovering the best way for them to study and comprehend it. I love to see my tutees be successful and go above and beyond to develop sessions around his or her needs and learning styles. During high school I went to the elementary school to be an aid in a first and second grade classroom. I enrolled in a college program for Early Education and Special Education,during this time in college I was hired at the local YMCA for the before and after school program. The director started to trust me with more responsibilities while I was there, such as running the before and after school programs, summer program, and teaching preschool. With a heavy heart I left my students and co-workers when I was offered a Special Education job in Bennington, Vermont, for the past two years I have taught Special Education in the Grades Kindergarten to Second grade.

The field of education allows me to live my passion of inspiring others to not only acquire a specific skill or merely understand a new concept but to also ignite in their hearts the love of knowledge and learning. I have always loved music and sharing my knowledge with others, and my educational experiences, along with other touring performance and civic engagement organizations, have allowed these two passions to intersect. If I had to put a title on my work, I would list a number of things - performer, composer, arranger, orchestrator, producer, educator. However, I love to condense these ideas into one word - artist. My philosophy is to use my skills and my network to equip my students with the tools they need to succeed at their specific goals. When I'm not making music, I love reading and getting outside to provide a sense of balance in my life and seek new sparks of inspiration.

During my teaching years while obtaining my PhD in Mathematics, I taught courses such as College Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Vector and Trigonometry (for an aviation program training future pilots at the St. Cloud State University, MN), and Vector Calculus (Multi-Variable Calculus).I taught Vector Calculus for many terms and received a letter of recognition by the Math Department Chair of the Oregon State University for strong student evaluations.I love doing Mathematics and enjoy teaching Mathematics. It's always a happy moment for me when my students learn.
