I am a recent college graduate who majored in performing arts at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. I am currently based in Chicago, IL, where I work as an actor and comedian around the city. My training during college was primarily based in acting, writing, directing, producing, filmmaking, creative problem solving, and many other facets around the creation of both live and filmed performance. While a lot of my time during university was spent focusing on the arts, I did indeed spend a fair amount of time exploring other subjects as in; philosophy, psychology, history, and other humanities-based topics.My approach to teaching and learning is all about curiosity. While I believe grades and tests hold the standard of quizzing knowledge from students, I believe that learning is about finding a genuine interest and connection to the information you are gathering. Curiosity leads to a lifetime of knowledge and constant learning. Testing has its merits to standardize, but each student has their own needs, wants, and interests. Each student, no matter who, deserves to be listened to, and treated fairly. Helping students find what they love, will help them move forward in their learning journeys forever.My teaching is dynamic, mostly because I like to approach the student from where they are in the given moment. It is important to me to check in about how they are feeling with the information and also give them a chance, if they feel comfortable at any point, to wander ahead to figure certain topics on their own. I am a graduate of Troy University where I double majored in Political Science and Communications Studies. After completing my undergraduate degree, I moved to Chicago where I received a masters degree in teaching. I am currently a full-time special education teacher on the Southside of the city. I am passionate about literature, english, and history. I enjoy making science come to life for my students. There is no better way to master a subject than by immersing yourself in it. I believe education should be equitable and exciting. Educators who demonstrate a thirst for knowledge have the ability to inspire lifelong learners. I look forward to helping each student find a subject that makes them feel excited to learn!

I am a University of Illinois graduate, dedicated to challenging students to reach their full potential and see the relevancy of their academics, daily life, and life goals and endeavors. As a tutor, I help students to set long-term academic goals and I cooperate and communicate with them to develop friendships and metrics to measure learning and growth. The sessions I conduct with students are catered towards their interests and personality. I enjoy connecting with students and discovering their hobbies and interests to help strengthen our relationship and enhance the tutoring experiences.I have previously tutored and taught native Chinese students reading, spoken, and written English during my last stay in Shanghai, China. I also privately tutored algebra mathematics to a University of Phoenix student, I also privately tutored Mandarin Chinese to two friends at their own designated times, and I have tutored my sisters and cousins literature and film concepts, analysis, and comprehension. I graduated with a degree in International Relations with a focus on foreign communication and international security. I personal believe stronger connections between tutor and student can be achieved through communication and sharing of hobbies and interests. I am a huge fan of the arts, in particularly films, literature, theater, and music and have often considered returning to school to study art. My personal hobbies include discussing and debating about filmmaking, film critiquing, languages, novels, and music.

I am currently a current student at Northeastern Illinois University to obtain my BA in accounting. I have obtained my AA at Olive Harvey in Business.I have been working with children as a nanny/tutor for over 7 years. I have worked with children from age 4 to high school seniors.I have tutored all elementary subjects, but math is my favorite subject to tutor in because I once hated everything about it until I found a way to excel in it.I am the most flexible tutor there is. I always assess where the student's strength is and use it to help them where they may need some improvement.Outside of academia, I enjoy going to the park with my children and 5 month old dog. I love singing and writing poetry. Overall I connect with all the students I have worked with because I am truly a friendly person and very patient.

I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) Actor, Writer, and Photographer. I studied Communication at Cleveland State University with a focus in Public Relations. It is important to share knowledge. If I have knowledge of a certain subject, it is my responsibility to give back and share what I know with those who wish to grow in that field/ subject matter. Plus, the best way to learn is to teach, therefore, the sharing of knowledge always comes full circle.

As an RA and camp counselor, I have been fostering students' success for a few years now. I am passionate for the sciences, specifically biology. Tutoring helps me directly engage with students in a way that is both fulfilling for the student and myself.

Born and raised in Silverton, Oregon, Haley attended Cornell College in Iowa where she worked as a Biopsychology tutor. She graduated magna cum laude from Cornell with a degree in Psychology, but in her time at school she enjoyed studying a wide range of topics, such as Religion, Spanish, and (her true love) Theatre. Haley pursued this love after graduating from college, touring with multiple children's theatre companies, and teaching theatre to and performing for young people across the country. After her tours Haley spent two years in New York City acting and tutoring, but in 2018 she relocated to Chicago in search of a change of pace-- and more trees.
