I graduated with a PhD from the University of Notre Dame, an MS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a BS (summa cum laude – with highest honors) from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico. My major subjects were Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Chemistry.I worked for many years at Bayer and at Hach Company in Elkhart. My team developed products used to analyze different materials. These products are used in clinics and medical offices around the world. We developed new chemical testing devices for analyzing water in the environment, in industry and in pools and spas. I also developed complex mathematics used in electronic instruments. I hold several U.S. and foreign patents; the most recent issued in April 2014.For many years, I was a youth soccer coach in the Concord league and was a player in an adult soccer league. I create YouTube videos for fun, information and training purposes. My wife and I raised two children who graduated from Concord High School and Purdue University, and went on to earn graduate degrees.As a math teacher, I have had the satisfaction of seeing students see the light, find their way in math, and start to explore and blaze new trails of their own. I help others to see math clearly. I tutor all levels of algebra. I also teach online and traditional math classes at Ivy Tech Community College in Elkhart and South Bend. My philosophy is that every student is capable of learning and applying math principles. My passion is to provide a boost to get them going.

I graduated from the University of Notre Dame two years ago with a degree in television and anthropology. I work at MTV during the weekday, but am free weekends and weeknights after 7:00 pm.

Doing well in a subject was not always the easiest thing for me. Despite this, I decided to become a tutor because the last thing I ever wanted was for someone else to feel as if they were inadequate or to have someone encounter an instance of rushed tutoring. I have now been tutoring for a little over 4 years and have gained much experience along the way. Throughout these years, I learned to adjust to the students needs along with being able to be have them set a tutoring session at their own pace.

I have worked extensively as a tutor for years. In high school, I was a teaching assistant for the Physics department at my high school, and one of my responsibilities was making sure to instill a solid understanding of the fundamentals of physics during physics tutorial sessions. At university, I have joined tutoring organizations such as Vanderbilt Student Volunteers for Science (VSVS) and Code Ignite that both bring STEM to the community and attempt to inspire interest in children about the STEM fields. I believe that education is the best way to give any person from any background a chance to succeed, and that is why I work as a tutor and peer educator.

I recently graduated from Harvard College. I hold a B.A. in History and a lot of textbooks. I love tutoring my favorite subjects, including History (obviously), Biology (I used to want to be a doctor), Spanish (I went to Costa Rica to learn about being a doctor), and the SAT (okay, maybe *favorite* is a stretch). I also teach chess, but that's more of a hobby. I also enjoy reading, creative writing, and perfecting the poached egg (the key is vinegar). In my spare time I act, perform improv, and think about how great dogs are.As a tutor, I believe my greatest strength is that I am not a textbook. I'm here to make even the driest material interesting and personally relatable, and to talk out difficulties when they arise. I hate memorizing, and would much prefer to make everything from Biology to History into exciting (if very small) stories that are not only easy to remember, but actively difficult to forget.I've had tutors that I hated going to, and tutors that I enjoyed spending my time with, and I do my best to emulate the latter.
