I am a graduate of the University of Phoenix. I received my Masters in Business Administration. I am also a graduate of Morgan State Univerisity and received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. I currently work as an auditor for the federal government. I am in the process of reviewing potential schools for Ph.D. or a DBA (Doctor's in Business Administration) programs. I believe that there is a need for more representation in academia and that is one of the reasons I am pursuing a Ph.D. and DBA.

I am a recent Chemistry Ph.D. graduate with a 7 month break before starting in my next role in management consulting. As the most enjoyable experiences of my career to date have been in teaching and mentoring, I am spending the intervening period tutoring!I received my Ph.D. in Chemistry from MIT, where I was a Presidential Fellow and a Dept. of Defense Graduate Fellow, and my B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University, Summa Cum Laude with Highest Thesis Honors. Over the course of my scientific research career I have produced 14 research publications, given 12 talks at international conferences, including the largest annual Physics, Chemistry, Materials, and Chemical Engineering conferences in the world, and have received 8 awards, totaling over $300k, specifically in recognition of my research accomplishments. As both an undergraduate and graduate student I have also taught, tutored, and mentored students. At MIT, I won a Graduate Teaching Award for thrice-weekly recitations of Intro Chemistry and Physical Chemistry at MIT; students consistently outperformed their peers in 5 other sections (higher average exam grades on all 4 exams and 9/12 pop quizzes, by an average margin of 5 grade points). As a graduate student, I have mentored over a dozen undergraduate students individually in their research, academics, career planning, and time/workflow management.Alongside my scientific career I have pursued an interest in business, leading to my pending employment as a Management Consultant. I took a full year of Management Science coursework at MIT's Sloan School of Management, including Microeconomics, Marketing, and Competitive Strategy. I applied that education to consulting engagement both freelance and through MIT. I have worked with a $16b Chinese state-owned enterprise on Sales force organization design, a $27b glass manufacturer on market entry into OLED lighting market, and a healthcare software startup on business model development. In those engagements I worked alongside graduate students from MIT and other international schools, and on several occasions presented findings to the senior management of the client firm.In addition to being a Native English speaker, I have studied Japanese for 7 years, including 3 years of college-level coursework and a 6 month stint working in Sales for a $17b semiconductor manufacturer in Japan. No matter what your background and challenges are as a student, I look forward to working together with you!

I discovered the joy of teaching and helping others when I was in school and working with classmates on the same material. I've found that the material is only part of the learning process. Attending the same classes allowed me to understand the classroom context and help classmates navigate confusing lessons as well as homework and exams. I have successfully taken on this role from elementary to graduate school. Most of the time I did not have an official position as a tutor, but I greatly enjoyed being in an optimal position to set up others for success.I most enjoy math, probability, and statistics because they give you tools that allow you to solve technical problems all by yourself. For example, I build a tool in Excel to give me the odds that I would get a desired card from a card pool in the online card game called Hearthstone. I graduated Michigan State with a bachelor's in statistics and a Master's in Business Analytics to learn how to apply statistics to real world problems.I have had almost all A's throughout my entire academic career. I attribute my success to more than natural ability. I've found that being willing to ask questions to classmates and teachers, putting more time and effort into subjects and lessons that are most challenging, treating each class/teacher as a separate challenge, and breaking down processes are all incredibly important. I think of a new class as a separate game that needs to be understood and respected. Having this flexibility will enable you to take the key steps that will optimize your performance. When I consider artistic performance such as my piano playing and dancing, I see how breaking it down is helpful in a similar way. I have to spend most of the time working on the hard parts and then integrating them into the rest of the piece. In school, the performance could be solving an algebraic equation. There could be an element like factoring that is hard and open ended. Putting the most time and effort into factoring and then successfully working through the whole problem is just like perfect practice leading to a flawless performance.

I have a deep interest in both researching and teaching Economics, as well as other fields of study. I have been involved in teaching and research for the better part of a decade. I got my start tutoring Economics at the college level, and have been teaching in some capacity ever since. I have degrees from BYU, the University of Georgia, and am currently an Economics PhD candidate at the Georgia Institute of Technology. I have taught several sections of Economics at the undergraduate level, as well as sections of GRE and GMAT test prep to post-graduate students preparing to enter graduate school. In addition to tutoring, I also enjoy helping potential graduate students navigate the application process and help them target their applications to their school(s) of choice.

I am a graduate of Duke University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Economics with a concentration on Finance. I am passionate about helping students with Math and Science subjects, and I would love to help students on the Math section of the SAT as well as the SAT II Math subject tests. I don't like to think of learning as a boring experience where one just memorizes facts but rather a fun discovery of new ideas and concepts.

We all learn differently. As Albert Einstein said, "Study is not the learning of facts but the training of the mind to think." Thomas Edison said only five percent of people think; another 10 percent think they think; and 85 percent would rather die than think. Let me help you be one of the five.

I am a sophomore at Grove City College majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Though I have no formal experience tutoring, I have helped my fellow students on many occasions. I truly love helping people around me understand difficult concepts. I know that each student learns differently. From experience, I know I am able to alter how I teach dependent on how the student learns. For example, I have a friend who is not a visual learner. I was able to adjust my methods to accommodate her learning style. I have had the opportunity to learn from fantastic teachers. I have been able to learn many helpful tips and tricks to pass on to students. Not only would I be able to adjust my teaching style, I am also very patient and encouraging in my teaching style. There are a lot of difficult subjects that are really hard to understand. It's very easy to want to give up. I would not only teach the subject, but give the student the confidence to continue learning after the tutoring session.I look forward to helping you learn and grow in confidence.
