Ingrid

I am currently a first year PhD student in Materials Science and NanoEngineering (MSNE) at Rice University in Houston, TX. I received my BS in biomedical engineering with a minor in advanced Asian languages (Korean concentration) from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL in 2023. As a first-generation college alumna and first-generation doctoral student, my teaching and mentoring philosophy centers around making sure students feel empowered to learn. This means that rather than lecturing, I will invite the student to share their thoughts on how to approach a problem and then build off of their knowledge from there.
