I am excited to be tutoring. In my experience teaching, I have learned that empowerment in a subject is a combination of efficient guidance from me and a willingness to improve from my students. By signing up for tutoring, students are already taking the first step to mastering whatever areas in which they may be having difficulty. I won't do all the work for my students but I will never leave them to figure out everything by themselves, as that defeats the purpose of a tutor. I will constantly assess understanding during the learning process, thus gradually giving my students the confidence that they have moved into deeper understanding of material. With the right instruction, everyone is capable of overcoming those problem subjects, and I am happy to help along the way.

Hi! Welcome to my page! My name is Sean Gawronski, I'm from Cincinnati Ohio, and am actively studying linguistics and computer science at the University of Pennsylvania. Beyond school, I am actively training for and exploring careers in artificial intelligence with a particular focus in machine translation and speech recognition systems. In my free time, I'm a huge sports buff, foodie, and a yogurt connoisseur! In the past, I founded and headed a student tutoring program that spanned across high school STEM, English and foreign-language subjects. With Varsity, I am continuing teaching those high school level concepts, as well as carrying my personal experience with standardized tests like the ACT, SAT, and Advanced Placement exams. Beyond course material, I also work with students with applying to college. The internet is a place full of information and tips regarding applications, essays, and long-term prep: some is helpful, but much of it isn't. As someone who has freshly gone through the admissions process, I am passionate about using my experience to help students pursue their dream schools and scholarships. In regards to my teaching style: I make an active effort to integrate my experiences as a tutor alongside those as a student and a mentor into my teachings. I have been an early childhood educator for 25 years, with a degree in early childhood education and development. I am also just personally a good test taker. I would love to help your child prepare for kindergarten with personalized lessons based on their goals and interests. I can also help your elementary school student with homework.

I am a student and life-long learner who is currently between undergraduate and graduate school. In May 2015, I received a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience and Biology from Centre College, and in September 2015, I will attend The Ohio State University to work towards a PhD in neuroscience. Throughout my academic journey, I have been guided by incredible teachers who have served as friends, mentors, and role models. I see teaching as a way to give back to my role models by passing down their knowledge to future generations of students. My well-rounded liberal arts education qualifies me to tutor a variety of subjects including algebra, biology, psychology, reading, and writing. As a neuroscience and biology double-major, I have an especially strong background in psychology and biology; however, I am also passionate about reading and writing as aptitude in these subjects forms the foundation of effective communication and comprehension of all other subjects. My teaching philosophy emphasizes individual learning and personal attention. I graduated from a small college where this philosophy is considered paramount, and by working as a teaching assistant there, I developed my skills as a teacher capable of providing a personalized education. I'm from Cincinnati, OH and love spending weekends there with my family. I'm planning on attending doctoral school for a PhD in Neuropsychology after a few years of working and traveling. I fell in love with Italy while studying abroad in Rome and will take any chance I can get to go back! When I'm not working, I enjoy visiting art museums and seeing musicals and plays. I was a peer tutor at Loyola for two years and have been a private tutor for the past year. It has been a very fulfilling experience and a skill I would like to continue developing. It is such a joy for me to see the light of understanding in my students' eyes and be able to track their progress and academic achievements. I am a graduate of Northern Kentucky University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English Education with a minor in Japanese Language and Culture, and I have recently returned to NKU to pursue a Master of Arts in ESL Instruction through their Teacher as Leader program. Since graduation I have begun my career as a teacher at a local charter school where I work as a Title I Reading instructor and ESL instructor with grades K-12. While I tutor in a variety of subjects, I am most passionate about Literature, Writing (including editing and drafting), and Japanese. In my experience working with children of all ages, we do our best to have fun even when studying the tough material by approaching learning through varied activities and methodsI strive to help my students think outside of the box when approaching problems. I believe that education is a necessity for current and future generations and that it leads to immeasurable opportunities that can take them anywhere they wish to go in lifeand this is a belief I strive to pass on to my students. My spare time is spent reading high fantasy literature, sewing and crafting, writing poetry, playing with my two cats, or simply relaxing at home with a good video game or two.

I am currently a P1 pharmacy student. I have had numerous opportunities to tutor students of various ages primarily in subjects that pertain to my program of study, especially chemistry. Throughout my years of study, I have come to the realization that only after meticulous examination of all the possible scenarios and exceptions of a particular phenomenon can we recognize patterns that may have facilitated our initial attempt to understand it in the first place. As a tutor, I hope to serve as a guide that aids students in discerning such patterns and integrating concepts to achieve a thorough and holistic understanding of the subject being studied. Besides tutoring, I enjoy playing the piano and cello, biking, and reading.

I'm an Economics major at Vassar College who has tutored peers and children for four years, and have learned as much from teaching as those I've taught. In my experience it is easiest for a student to learn when their teacher engages with them directly and adapts their way of teaching to the learning style and interests of the student. This has always been how I have learned most effectively as a student, and is how I attempt to instill knowledge as a teacher.
