I am a recent graduate of Siena College, where I obtained a B.S. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Mathematics. During all four years of undergrad, I tutored various levels of mathematics, and I have also tutored chemistry and biology subjects. I most enjoy tutoring mathematics courses because I love helping students sharpen their logical thinking skills, and because math is the language of the universe! In particular, I really love tutoring calculus because it can be used to describe tons of real-world phenomena. My tutoring style revolves around teaching students how to break complex topics down to the basics so they can work their way to building up their knowledge and confidence independently.

With experience working with young elementary students, high school students, college applicants, and college students, I bring an eagerness to adapt my guidance to each individual. I began studying German at age 12 in middle school and went on to complete a BA degree at the State University of New York at Oswego. I subsequently completed a Masters degree through Middlebury College and was able to study in Berlin, Germany during this time. I believe in taking an academic as well as cultural approach to language learning, so that the language can truly "come alive" in the mind of the student.

We all speak a language which makes it common to all of us. This reflects the nature of language and the will or the need to communicate. Yet all the languages are not the same and, learning them can be something difficult but necessary for intercultural exchange to people in contact. I will be glad as a French near-native speaker, to help people achieve that goal.

I am a Graduate Student completing my MS in Secondary Education for English at SUNY at Albany. In May, I will have my NYS Teaching Certification. I got my BA in English at the same university, where I also double minored in Creative Writing and Film Studies. I've taught in middle and high school classrooms, and I can't wait to continue teaching here.I've learned so much about the importance of collaboration and student agency in learning. I also believe in the importance of meeting the specific needs and honoring the unique interests of each student. Every person I meet is capable of accomplishing more than they know. My job is just to help them see that for themselves through time and practice. I tutor English and Literature, and I love bringing film, television, and creativity into the classroom!
