I am proud to say my student made it on the school honor roll for the first time. I view tutoring as a form of giving back to my community and as a mutual learning experience for me and my student. My teaching style stresses focusing on separating concepts that my student already knows from those that they are struggling with. I am a concentrator in the History of Science which involves the study of the development of knowledge. It is amazing to see how systems and thought evolve. History of Science has been amazing in changing my consideration of what is science and who gets a chance to live in our world which inspired my change to the non-medical path of history of science towards public health.

I am an 8th grade Language Arts teacher with a passion for reading and writing. I love the way reading a novel can pick you up and bring you anywhere. Someplace magical, someplace mysterious. Writing is an outlet used for expression and can be very therapeutic. Finding your creativity is a fun way to get to know yourself better.

I'm currently a 5th grade teacher at a public school in my hometown. I love to make learning fun, because that's how I learn best. And I want that for my students as well. There's joy in learning and even more when you understand how and why things work. I dedicate myself to breaking things down in pieces that I understand and make learning as fun and relatable as possible. I'm passionate about teaching and removing those obstacles that make school "hard".

I am there to help them learn and to support them as their largest cheerleader. Establishing that helps grow success later on.

I am married and have three beautiful daughters. I graduated with a Bachelor in Math Education in 2000 and a Masters in Math in 2003 from Fairfield University. I have been teaching high school for over 20 years. The subjects I have taught ranged from elementary math to Trigonometry. I love to help children learn math and succeed in math.

I am very experienced in working with children and teens and motivating them to succeed at schoolwork and writing (without doing the work for them!). As a marketing manager for a major publisher of children's content, my job requires me to tackle writing projects every day with the aim of really getting the message across. Both of these attributes will help my students as they work on reading, writing and organizational tasks.

I am a graduate of Dickinson College in Carlisle PA where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. After that, I immediately obtained my MBA in International Business from the University of New Haven.
