I have been a Cleveland Metropolitan School District educator for 34 years, teaching grades K-2 in the subjects of English Language Arts (ELA), and mathematics. I believe that children are very eager to learn and they deserve support to help them meet their academic goals. As a retired educator since May, 2021, I continue to equip youngsters with strategies that will effectively assist their understanding of the subject matter being learned. My favorite teaching subject is ELA/ reading instruction with the emphasis on foundational phonics skills. Consequently, reading literacy is critical towards the comprehension of other academic subjects. I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in ElementaryEducation from Miami University (OH) and a Master's degree in Curriculum Instruction with an Ohio Reading Endorsement Certification from Cleveland State University. During my teaching experience, I had the opportunity to be my school's coordinator of the Ohio Reads funded, H.O.S.T.S. (Help One Student To Succeed) Tutoring/Mentoring Program. My duties involved training community/business volunteers on how to tutor our students in reading and math.and how to mentor the tutored student, thus establishing a healthy and positive relationship together. I have had experience as a Reading Resource Teacher, working with small groups of students to improve their reading development.As a supportive tutor, I am interested in encouraging and building the self esteem of the learner by getting to know the interests, the learning styles. and the social/emotional needs as well. As a Grandmother of a kindergartener and first grader, I remain familiar with the Common Core learning objectives as I assist them during their homework sessions. Family fun is important to me so I spend time with them as often as possible.

I am a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology with a concentration in cognitive neuroscience and also minored in music with a specialty in piano performance. After graduating, I completed two years of dedicated immunology research in a pediatrics - infectious diseases laboratory. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about helping students achieve their potential on standardized tests. I want to help not only with students' short-term goals but also more distant trajectories and life goals. In my spare time, I enjoy playing music, reading, practicing yoga, running, and learning new tricks in the kitchen. I look forward to working with you!

I received my Bachelors degree in Mathematics with a focus on Education from Liberty University in May, 2019 and my Master's degree from Case Western Reserve University in December of 2020. I have been tutoring mathematics ranging from developmental math to Calculus III for the entire duration of my college experience in both group and one-on-one sessions. Everyone has something that they struggle learning, Mathematics is absolutely not anything to be shy about, and it is my passion to pass on the knowledge I was taught in as fun a way that I can manage.

I have been teaching high school English for the past 14 years. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from John Carroll University, with a degree in English. I also have a master's degree in Education from Marygrove College. I look forward to a productive tutoring experience.

I've worked with students from kindergarten through college, and I've enjoyed working with every age group. Teaching is a great joy for me, and I find it inspirational to learn from students. I've tutored many subjects, and am certified to teach English as a second language. My favorite teaching experience was working as a TA in a college anthropology course, working with largely first-year students still adjusting to their new lives. I received my BA from New York University, majoring in anthropology and journalism. I currently work in an anthropology lab at Northwestern, and also enjoying freelance writing.

During my career in various fields, I have always been a trainer or teacher in some capacity. I derive great satisfaction during the process of explaining and helping others learn something new. Knowledge gives others more control over their destiny.

I am an upcoming junior at Case Western Reserve University, currently pursuing a B.S. in biology with minors in psychology and chemistry. I enjoy being a camp counselor for the science camps at the Great Lakes Science Center, and more recently was an undergraduate teaching assistant for BIOL 215: Cells and Proteins. As a TA, I mainly worked with students who struggled with the class, but I greatly enjoyed helping students regardless of their skill level. As a biology major, with a particular interest in microbiology, I enjoy tutoring biology the most. However, I am happy to help with any subject that I'm knowledgeable in, especially writing. I have always had a passion for education, and am considering teaching at the college level someday. I believe that taking an individual's learning style into consideration is essential and very helpful to those who have not tried learning in their ideal way before. Outside of college work, I walk dogs part time, go on nature walks, and take care of the numerous furry and scaly creatures I have at home.

I am currently working on supporting aerospace academy programs focused on increasing underrepresented groups in STEM fields, but before this I was a high school physics teacher for seven years. I am currently a student at Case Western Reserve University for computer science. In high school, I was a member of the Peer Tutoring and Mentoring Club and enjoy working with students, primarily in math and science. My favorite subject is physics because it combines science with math and is actually applicable to real life. My learning philosophy is to just do practice problems. The more practice, the easier each problem will be. Somebody can spend all day just studying notes, but he or she will learn best by just doing practice problems. Outside of school, I own a website design business and I enjoy to do anything outdoors. I love snow skiing, water skiing, boating, hiking, and fishing.
