My name Eitan and I recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. In August I will be starting my first year at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. I have always loved studying the complexities of mathematics, especially when it comes to applying it to the physical world.Working with others has also been a passion of mine for a very long time. During my time as an undergraduate student, I was involved on campus and served as the president of the Hillel on campus, an organization that serves the Jewish community. Additionally, as a pre-med student, I had many friends that I worked with. Whenever they were struggling, I was always more than happy to help them out so they could better understand the information. I love working with people to help them better understand their studies, and I hope I can continue doing that through Varsity Tutors.

I am proud to have a lifelong love of learning, and through my work I aim to guide and instruct others along their own process of education. As an undergraduate student at Yale University, I took a wide range of courses alongside the requirements for my degree program in Music. I also made sure to keep time free to sing in a cappella groups and to play my cello. After college, I had my first experience teaching music, math, and language skills to students at an international school in Italy. This opportunity opened my eyes to the wonderful rewards of tutoring and teaching, and I have not looked back since!Since returning to the United States, I have offered private tutoring focused on test preparation, worked to coordinate music education outreach projects with a non-profit organization, and worked as the director of several musical ensembles. I completed my masters degree in Choral Conducting at the University of Michigan and am currently back at Yale, where I am a doctoral student in conducting.I love working with students to help them to achieve their potential. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have had wonderful teachers throughout my life, and I aim to support and encourage my students in the same way!

I hold a PhD in Applied Physics, with a background spanning advanced mathematics, engineering systems, and quantitative modeling. My training emphasized rigorous analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and the ability to translate complex technical ideas into clear, understandable concepts. Throughout my academic and research career, I have worked extensively with mathematical modeling, differential equations, linear algebra, probability, electromagnetism, and systems-level engineering analysis. This experience allows me to help students see mathematics not as isolated formulas, but as a powerful language for understanding the physical world. My tutoring philosophy centers on developing strong foundations and deep intuition. I help students: Break down complex problems into manageable components Understand the underlying structure behind formulas and theorems Build disciplined, logical reasoning skills Connect abstract math concepts to real-world engineering and physics applications Whether a student is working through high school algebra, preparing for advanced calculus, or studying physics and engineering coursework, I focus on clarity, patience, and building lasting confidence. I aim to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, thinking critically, and strengthening their analytical abilities step by step. My goal is not only to improve grades or test scores, but to help students become independent, capable thinkers who can approach challenging problems with confidence and precision.

While I tutor primarily in math, I also have experience using robotics as a tool to teach other subjects in order to engage students who love STEM from an early age without letting them fall behind in reading or grammar. Having been a student during the pandemic and a tutor through all stages of reopening, I understand how difficult it can be to learn online, so I make it a priority to be animated and engaging, going back to basics if necessary, and leave my students more comfortable to tackle problems on their own by the end of a session.

I am a freshman at the University of Michigan working towards a major in Economics with a Minor in Data Science. I think it's important to cherish education because it can genuinely teach you different skill-sets. I've tutored all throughout high school from Kumon to volunteering. I love working with all age ranges with different subjects (my favorite being spanish, algebra, geometry, english, and reading). I think it's important to have fun while you're learning and to genuinely understand the material, not just doing homework to get it done. It is also very important to take breaks while doing homework and to make sure to take your time. Also during standardized tests, it's a hard test and sometimes pressure gets to students. It's okay to make mistakes but practicing through it is the most important part!

Hi there! I am a recent graduate from The University of Michigan where I completed a Bachelor's of Science is both Mathematical Sciences and Statistics. My research areas focused on mathematically modeling with differential equations as well as biostatistics. During my time at Michigan, I had the absolute pleasure of being part of the Math Corps branch at the University. For the last two years, I have provided insightful mathematics tutoring by leading teams of middle and high school students, as well as working one on one with students that require more individualized help. This has given me experience teaching students with ADHD and ASD. I take pride in fostering a supportive learning environment rooted in social justice while instilling a passion for mathematics and equitable educational opportunities. I understand that math is a difficult subject for most people, and most kids can be very easily discouraged from the subject. I have seen firsthand that the support of a caring mentor in these cases can foster self-worth and courage. Furthermore, I have identified principles that I can leverage to create impact with students. Celebrating both individuality and diversity ensures children are part of a community that is mutually supportive and caring. Expecting only the best for and from the students creates a learning environment where there is communal responsibility. Humor is essential to every child's wellbeing, and can form very powerful bonds. Through these, I aim to provide a close relationship which guarantees direct support throughout their educational journey. The mentoring style that I have found works best for me and the kids is one that is focused on building relationships with the students. I enjoy working through curriculum with students to find what makes them excited about math and confident in their skills. I look forward to working with you and your child!

I graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in History and minors in Spanish and Computer Science. I am fluent in Spanish and enjoy supporting students who may need translation support or assistance with Spanish coursework. Since 2018, I have served as a high school reading comprehension and essay writing tutor, a History student teacher, and an ESL high school tutor to multiple students. During my full-time job as an editor, I also work with students and others to improve their writing skills. I am well-equipped to help with English, History, Spanish and Math tutoring needs. I believe learning to appreciate the humanities can lead to a more rich and fulfilling life, but educators need to make it a priority to make reading and writing instruction accessible to their students. I understand how frustrating it can be when students receive loads of information without having an opportunity to test and reinforce their knowledge. My main priority when working with a student is to empower them as learners. If we are working on an essay together, I will be making sure they know how to create a strong outline and nail the structure down. I have seen firsthand how giving students the building blocks they need to solve problems on their own makes them more confident and knowledgeable both inside and outside the classroom.
