I am a Yale graduate with over 8 years experience tutoring students from a variety of backgrounds. I recently graduated from the Yale School of Public Health with a MPH concentrating in Epidemiology and Global Health. I also received my B.S. from Yale with a double major in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and French. I have experience both leading group classes and working with students one on one. I will respond to a student's strengths, weaknesses, and learning style in order to help them succeed and make the most of our time together. I earned a perfect score of 36 on the ACT, 2280 on the SAT, and qualified as a National Merit Scholar on the PSAT. I look forward to working with you!

I am currently a senior at Johns Hopkins studying Biomedical Engineering. I have a lot of experience tutoring in math, physics, chemistry, and thermodynamics. I have also proof-read essays for college applications and english classes as well. Outside of school I like to cook, play basketball, and listen to music.

I am a current sophomore at Vanderbilt University! I am double majoring in Public Policy and Human & Organizational Development with a minor in Spanish. I first started tutoring in high school, when I started working at Kumon Learning Center and began teaching elementary and middle school students reading and mathematics. I also volunteered my tutoring services through my high school's National Merit Society, through which I helped my peers in advanced subjects such as AP testing, ACT, SAT, and PSAT prep.

I received my PhD in mathematics from Drexel University in 2019. I really enjoyed teaching as a graduate student, and working as a tutor here seems like a nice way to get back into it. Before graduate school, I went to Johns Hopkins. I started out as a "chemical and biomolecular engineering" major, but then ended up switching to a double major in math and electrical engineering. I graduated with a BA in math and MS in electrical engineering. From there, I went to Drexel University to write and defend my dissertation in mathematics, which was about two unsolved problems in linear algebra. While in Johns Hopkins and Drexel University, I ended up teaching a lot of math and a bit of science not only as a tutor, but also as a teaching assistant and as a primary instructor. Since then, I've been working as a mathematician; I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Free University of Brussels for one year, and then as a research scientist at the Air Force Research Lab in Dayton, Ohio for two years. It's been a rewarding career, but I have missed teaching. When it comes to teaching, I try my best to take a flexible approach and meet students where they are. I am a big believer in the power of intuition and curiosity, so I try to teach in a way that nurtures both. I find that it is important not only to know how to get from problem statement to solution, but also to have some understanding of why the pieces fit together the way they do. Besides math and teaching, I enjoy singing, playing piano, playing online chess, and doing the New York Times crossword (and other word games). Lately, I've been trying to get back into running and yoga.

I am a certified English Language Arts teacher for grades 7-12 with an endorsement in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I am also an experienced standardized test prep instructor and study skills tutor. My students have included everybody from gang members and refugees to the most gifted and highly competitive students, so I can customize instruction for anyone!

I am especially passionate about presenting a new perspective on algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and linear algebra. In my experience, students have always appreciated my patience and flexibility when approaching challenging topics. I also follow sports closely, and in my spare time I enjoy running, watching movies, and playing games with friends.

I am tutoring!

I am currently working towards my degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Dayton. In high school, I tutored students around my age frequently with my school's chapter of Mu Alpha Theta (math national honor society). Since I arrived at college, I have been tutoring my peers in calculus, biology, and chemistry. I'm an engineering major, so of course my favorite subjects are science and math. I love to teach students any type of math or science; in fact, I find it fun. Although, I do find things other than school fun (I'm not that lame). I'm involved in a considerable amount of extracurricular activities at UD. I play trombone my school's jazz band (which recently travelled to New Orleans) and for my school's pep band (which supports the best basketball team in the A10 \[go Flyers!\]). I'm also on the club racquetball team for my school and I am a hockey fanatic. Despite the fact that most engineering majors are introverts, I am quite the talker. I will enjoy sitting down with you and talking through any issues you may have with your subject. I tend to make my students work on their own up to the point where they get stuck in a problem and explain their thought process as they go through. That way, I can understand what my students understand and what they don't. I hope you choose me as your tutor and I am looking forward to helping you succeed!

I am passionate about teaching because I love helping someone understand and become confident in a concept that previously baffled them. I am a student at The Ohio State University working towards a Computer Science degree. I have experience tutoring math up through AP Calculus BC, French, and AP Literature. My experience in tutoring comes from the free weekly French tutoring program I initiated at my high school, which grew to me tutoring other subjects as well. My teaching philosophy involves discussion and helping the student come to an answer themselves, which allows the topic to stick. Because of this one of my favorite subjects to tutor is writing. Writing tutoring helps the student grow and allows them to see the problems in their writing themselves. Outside of academia I enjoy calligraphy and playing piano.

With an unwavering passion for mathematics and programming and a commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of the subject, I am eager to contribute my skills as a tutor. I come from a background in applied computing, which is my major in my master's degree and it has sharpened my problem-solving skills in a unique way. In the past, I volunteered as a tutor, helping students navigate through their academic challenges. It was an incredibly rewarding experience, being able to connect with students, understand their individual learning styles, and witness those satisfactory moments when things clicked. I believe in creating a warm and supportive learning atmosphere, where every question is encouraged, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow. My goal is not just to teach math but to inspire a sense of confidence and excitement in students as they tackle new and sometimes tricky concepts. I'm really looking forward to the chance to bring my enthusiasm and experiences into a tutoring role and make math a bit more enjoyable for everyone involved!
