I attended Jesuit High School in Carmichael, CA where I graduated with a 4.3 GPA taking multiple AP and honors courses (AP Bio, Chem, Physics B, Gov, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, English Lit, and English Lang). I also participated in several tutoring organizations throughout high school.I then attended UCLA for my undergrad degree in Political Science (Class of 2014) while also completing the pre med requirements there. At UCLA, I took the full General and Organic Chem series with labs, Life Science Physics including labs, Calculus, Biology including labs, and completed an honors thesis for the political science department.I took one gap year between UCLA and medical school where I worked in a Neuroscience and Biophysics Research Lab while TAing (teaching assistant) for several biology courses including LS 2, LS 4, and LS23L (Cells, Tissues and Organs, Genetics, and Intro to Biology Lab).I currently attend Drexel University College of Medicine where I am in my final year of MedU al school currently applying for my residency position.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse with a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business, Management & Technology, and Spanish. During my undergraduate education, I studied Spanish language and culture abroad for one semester in Granada, Spain. I also attended extensive business and economics courses, including macroeconomics, microeconomics, and international economics.Thereafter, I attended the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where I graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in International Legal Studies and Business Law. I am also a licensed attorney in California. During law school, I studied law and worked in Guatemala, Spain, and Uruguay, where I communicated entirely in Spanish during internships and law classes.My unique professional and academic experiences, as well as my sincere care for success of the students I tutor, allows me to effectively tutor individuals of all ages in the areas of Spanish, California Bar Exam, LSAT, and Business. I strive to provide my students with a fun, interactive, and open learning environment.

I am a retired high school teacher. I have taught all levels (9-12 grade), and all aspects of English. No matter what I taught or when I taught it, I have always enjoyed the student-teacher connection more than any other part of teaching.I am especially good at helping with writing no matter the writer's level. Working on writing is a chance to also work on grammar, punctuation, organization, including outlining, and finally writing the paper. If a student learns this process, they can write a response for any situation.Once the process is learned then writing for other classes, all the way from a short answer to a research paper, becomes so much easier! After graduation and entering the work world, knowing how to write a response is a crucial tool. More and more businesses demand their employees write.Be it writing, or any other academic challenge, I hope to help you reach your potential, connect what you are studying to the real world, and have some fun while doing so.

I am 22 years old. I graduated from Sacramento State in the fall of 2015 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering. While at Sacramento State, I took multiple calculus courses including differential equations. Also I coached high school volleyball for 3 years at my former high school in Elk Grove. I decided to start tutoring after graduating college so I could share my knowledge with many other students to help them succeed in school. Tutoring for me is comparable to engineering. I love both because I love to solve problems. I hope to teach students to be unafraid of solving problems as well. I tutor Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometry and Calculus. My favorite subject to tutor is Algebra 1. I like Algebra 1 because that is the beginning of solving equations and I believe that a solid understanding of Algebra 1 is very important for students. My tutoring style is patient and enthusiastic. I enjoy math and I want my students to enjoy it too! My teaching philosophy is you cannot build without tools. In math you need to add every tool to your toolbox that you can because math is always a cumulative subject. Outside of academia I enjoy being around friends and family. I also enjoy most outdoor activities such as running, yoga, hiking, biking, and rowing.

I've tutored with nonprofit organizations such as Urban Youth Impact and Reading Partners, served as an instructor in the military overseas and as a contractor for a Fortune 500 company, and worked as a teacher in the California public school system. Through this variety of experiences, I've worked with many great educators and students, and found that everyone has a teaching and learning style that works best for them, and the key is finding a match. For myself, the most important attributes in my teaching ability are passion, patience, and perception. Bringing life to the material with creativity and insight kindles and a greater interest in the learner. Having the patience to follow the plan of execution helps the student feel at ease and puts them in a better mindset for success. Perception is crucial for understanding how a student can maximize their abilities, and which method of learning works best for them.

I am familiar with many of the schools in the area and would love to help local students succeed in their classes. I worked with students from under-resourced schools in the past, through a program called Breakthrough Sacramento, teaching Cell Biology to 7th graders. I have experience working with students individually as a Tutor. I have tutored students in grades 3-12 and lead study groups with my college peers at U.C. Berkeley and U.C. Davis.I did not have the opportunity to have a tutor myself, which made me realize how great an advantage it is to have that kind of support and resource. I am dedicated to helping students succeed in their courses as well as gain an understanding of the concepts and material. It is not enough to simply do well. I want students to first have a desire to learn. I want them to understand the material enough to be able to do well on their own, and to help teach it to others. It is only then when they can accurately and confidently teach the material to someone else that they have truly acquired knowledge and a thorough understanding.Working with students on a one-on-one basis allows me to explore different teaching and learning methods. I myself am an auditory and visual learner; however, I realize that there are many kinds of learners. Therefore, I plan to adjust methods in order to cater to the needs of the student.I am currently applying for medical school. In a way I still am one of the those students but I've found through hard work and some clever strategies that it is possible for anyone to be a successful student and a lifelong learner.I have spent many years working with other students to pass on the skills I've acquired so that they too may find success. I have worked extensively with grade school children in the areas of math and writing through my participation as an assistant teacher with the Visions 2000 Math & Reading Academy. For five summers I worked with far below and below basic students to get them back up to speed in time for the coming school year. Additionally, while attending USC I worked with inner-city children to pass on my engineering knowledge with the Iridescent Learning program. There I designed lesson plans that would explore the wonders of engineering and each lesson culminated in a hands of building challenge of my own design. With all this experience I hope to continue helping children achieve their goals by being patient and understanding of their individual needs.
