I hope you find one or more classes that pique your creative interests.I am a graduate of Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL where I majored in Visual Art with an emphasis on ceramics and photography. I hold a Professional Educator's Certificate in Visual Art K-12 and have worked in public, private and healthcare settings for over 20 years.I LOVE learning all kinds of new things every single day and artmaking has been a passion of mine since childhood. My current roster of classes includes primarily art-related courses such as AP Art History, Digital Photography, Fine Art, and Digital Art. My short-term goal is to be adding courses like Art for Healing, Sewing, Junk Journaling, Bookmaking and Modern Home Economics.My hope is that in taking any of my classes, you will discover new and exciting things about the world around you and about what makes you uniquely special. Art allows you to study cultures from around the globe throughout the entire timeline of recorded history. You will learn about your heritage and even have the opportunity to tell your own personal story in a variety of creative ways.You will also get to see how much fun math and science can be in the world of art. I have a BS in finance and economics, I worked as a financial analyst and investment specialist for a brokerage firm. I abruptly changed direction and joined the military where I spent close to a decade serving in the United States Army Special Forces.I approach tutoring with a "no quit" attitude as I have done with many things in my life. Together we will make it happen!

I am currently a student at Stanford University studying math and political science. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with younger students. I have helped students of different ages and from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, and so I am very conscious of the needs and prior knowledge my students and tailor my tutoring method and style individually.I tutor students in a wide range of subjects. In subjects related to reading and writing, I focus first on the students comprehension of the material at hand and then help the student construct an analytical argument. In subjects related to math, I review the foundational concepts in a certain topic before proceeding to assist the student with specific example problems. I always make sure to make my lessons enjoyable and relatable, so that the students attention remain on the subject matter.I am also very knowledgeable about standardized tests, particularly the ACT and many of the SAT subject tests, and so I am always excited to help students reach their full potential on these tests.

I have been teaching others about computers since I first learned in 1995. From MS Office products and HTML 1.0 in the early days, to networking, firewalls and assorted disciplines of cyber security for more than 27 years. My goal is to help inspire the next generation, so that when I retire...the cyber world continues on protecting data, people and property from those with malicious intent.

I am a graduate from Arizona State University, The Honors College, with a degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Global Health. I was awarded the Moeur award as I was able to complete university with a 4.0 GPA.Since AP Chemistry and AP Biology in high school, I have developed a passion for these subjects. Moreover, in college, my desire to share my knowledge and help others in these tough subjects greatly strengthened. Therefore, I chose to tutor middle-school and high-school students in a variety of subjects. Out of all the subjects that I offer, I love to teach biology, chemistry, and algebra because of my expertise and excellent ability to accurately convey the concepts. I also offer tutoring for SAT Math sections since this closely corresponds to my interests.Currently, I am an online peer mentor for first-year chemistry/biochemistry-degree students at ASU. This class has taught me many of the technical aspects of learning. From previous experiences, I learned that every student has their own learning style that they flourish in. While one might learn effectively with pictures, another student might grasp the concept with hands-on experience. My approach to tutoring is quite simple; after analyzing the student's strengths and weaknesses to create a mental record, I adapt my teaching style accordingly.In my free time, I love to work out at the gym, volunteer at Hospice, and watch movies. These are the activities that continue to motivate and push me.Lastly, I know that some students will either prefer a teacher-student interaction and some a student-student interaction. As long as the student is achieving his goals and gradually performing better, I can teach any way that student likes.

Whatever your goal is--whether it be to run for office or become a successful businessperson, the reality is that most positions at top-tier institutions require a college diploma. With acceptance rates of universities going down across the board, achieving this goal is becoming increasingly difficult.Whether you are a high school senior aspiring to increase your SAT scores, or a freshman seeking to improve your GPA, I can assist you accomplish this!With a major in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania, I have taken elementary courses such as Calculous to graduate level Complex Analysis, lending me the ability to teach a wide spectrum of students. In a addition, my experience working as a professional web developer in Manhattan gives me real-life skills in writing programs and building web pages most efficiently.A student myself not too long ago, I remember vividly the pressure and anxiety being a student entails. I recently graduated from Ohio University where I studied political science (pre-law track) and received my certificate in social media. I hope to work in the media field in the future, then possibly achieve my MBA and go onto receive my Juris Doctorate in Business Law. When I can, I squeeze in an early morning work out. I took this job as a way to make some supplemental income to pay off student loan debts and work towards my future degrees. I will have my Portuguese Water Dog puppy Bruno (who is 4 months old) who I would like to train as a therapy dog to assist me within job as he has outstanding patience for those who do not have the confidence in themselves to go above and beyond in the classroom when it comes to academia.I look forward to helping your child succeed in any way possible!
