After earning my BFA and teaching credentials from Southwest Texas State University, I pursued a career in Austin and Bastrop ISD's. During my tenure, I worked with students in PreK through 12th grades. I also sponsored extracurricular activities, supervised student teachers, and provided training for colleagues. I truly believe there is no greater profession than one that allows me to impact the future, by inspiring students to solve problems and express themselves creatively. I find it exhilarating to assist students of all ages and abilities in finding their strengths and developing a love of learning. Therefore, meeting the diverse needs of learners through the online tutoring platform, is a perfect fit. If you, or someone you know is interested in discovering or refining your talents in Visual Arts subjects such as Drawing, Painting, Collage, Mixed Media, Printmaking, Textiles etc. I would love to meet with you.

I graduated with a Bachelors of Science from the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering, where I majored in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. While there, I was the director with the university Hackathon, an entirely student run event that aimed to empower students to learn and create a software project in 36 hours. My position directed our $80,000 to help students with no prior knowledge of computer science to create something amazing. I was lucky enough to get to personally mentor students, as well tutoring large groups in how to build a game of their own. Before the pandemic, I worked at Microsoft as a software engineer for two years. In such a large company, learning to quickly learn and teach others is important, and further strengthed my skills for teaching. I love to learn, and I think one of the best ways to learn is to teach -- you cannot teach without an intimate knowledge of the subject. I love to tutor math and computer science, topics I've studied and worked with for years to learn their ins and outs. I firmly believe in teaching students beyond "passing a test". I've always sought out a deep understanding of a topic, and love to do the same with my students.

I am originally from West Virginia and a graduate of West Virginia University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Resources with minors in Conservation Ecology and Applied Statistics. During my undergraduate degree I travelled the state of West Virginia teaching natural resources science and conservation to a variety of youth groups including Boy Scouts and 4-H. I was also a teaching assistant for an upper-level conservation genetics course. I am currently earning my Master of Science in Biological Sciences from Nova Southeastern University where I study marine fish ecology in the Pacific Ocean. While at NSU I was a teaching assistant for a graduate level course in R programming and biostatistics. I have been an ACT/SAT test prep and subject tutor for almost two years now, and enjoy helping students reach their academic goals. I am most passionate about teaching science, English, and reading, but I also tutor many students that struggle in high school math. I emphasize a relaxed but focused environment while tutoring, and I want to help students build their confidence in whatever area they need support. I firmly believe that learning should always be interesting and fun, even when challenging. In my spare time I enjoy wildlife photography, reading, and hiking.

I have always loved school and learning! I've been tutoring since I was 12 and spent a lot of time in middle and high school tutoring or helping with test prep! I've also spent a good amount of time working with special needs students (of all abilities) with speech, as well as music therapy! I've tutored in Math, Sciences, Music, Music Theory, Piano, Voice, and SAT prep! I do have experience in other tutoring areas as well. I strongly believe in tailoring every lesson/plan to each individual student, since every person is different, we all learn differently! My goal is to take the stress out of it and help my students love learning and see just how much they can do.

I am excited to explore such an opportunity as it is a major interest of mine to help today's youth develop essential skills. I am grateful to have had strong mentors that taught me throughout my life and I want to pay it forward by mentoring others and helping them reach their full potential. Mathematics is a crucial skill for an individual's future and I want to be a part of the learning process of these young students so they can excel at any level they reach.
