My name is Brett. I have been teaching in various positions now for 9 years. Before then, during my school years, I would also help people with their school studies, leading after/before school sessions in math, science and computers. In my professional career, I have been responsible for helping create a bachelors degree at the University of North Dakota, creating an IT department for various Aviation companies, as well as been the primary teacher and Site Lead for many overseas sites that work with the military.

Armed with bachelors and juris doctor degrees from a small, liberal arts college (Washington and Lee University), I embarked on a fulfilling career of teaching, consulting, and mentorship. I have been a legal consultant, college professor at three separate colleges including the University of Phoenix, American Intercontinental University, and Axia College, business owner, management consultant, blogger, and now an active tutor. These experiences have given me distinguished experience to guide students of any age. When starting any tutoring session, my goals for each student at the outset are always to: 1) enlighten through current events, 2) offer application of course concepts, 3) motivate for sustained learning beyond the classroom, and 4) ensure full comprehension of the concepts. Although my subjects typically present theoretical concepts, these concepts can be easily learned because many others have learned them too. The concepts also have real-world application. I utilize current events to clarify course concepts and give students a reference point for those concepts. For me, it is also important that my students not only learn the course concepts for the sake of passing tests and submitting good papers. But, it is equally important that they are motivated beyond my tutoring sessions to continue learning and possess a knowledge base that they could use even ten (10) years from now.

My professional background is in the field of cybersecurity and digital forensics. I hold a Masters of Digital Forensic Science from Champlain College as well as a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from Saint Vincent College. In-between those degrees I also have many certifications. I have experience teaching in a wide variety of subjects which also include children's subjects. In my spare time I enjoy skiing, hiking and working with my animals. I volunteer as much as I can as I believe in giving back to my community.

Self-learner starting at the age of 10 years old, Computer Systems University Degree, 20+ Years of experience in the IT / Cyber Security spaces. 10 Certifications across computer networking, cloud and defensive and offensive security (i.e. Penetration Testing / Ethical Hacking). Getting knowledge is great and rewarding, but being able to share it is even better.
