I am a Masters in Biochemistry and PhD in related discipline and at present working as an Instructor in the Department of Neuroscience at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX, USA. I had an extensive research and teaching experience of more than 15 years in the field of cell and developmental biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, genetics and molecular biology. I have tremendously enjoyed my journey as an educator and hope to continue with my teaching endeavors in future. Although, my first exposure to classroom teaching was when I served as a Guest Lecturer in NIPER, Hajipur, India (2007-2010) during my PhD, but my voyage as a teacher stems way back into my Undergraduate days where I used to tutor high school students for Biology and Chemistry. In NIPER I taught courses on Molecular Biology, Macromolecules, Separation Techniques and Genomics and Proteomics to students enrolled in Masters of Pharmacy. In 2010 after submitting my PhD thesis I was hired as a Lecturer in the same institute till I moved to USA in 2011 and joined as postdoctoral fellow in UT Southwestern Medical Center. To fulfil my never-ending passion for teaching I got myself involved in teaching and mentoring STARS and SURF students who are visiting UT Southwestern Medical Center in summer. Most recently, I got engaged in teaching advanced level undergraduate courses as an Adjunct Faculty in Southern Methodist University, Dallas, USA: Bio of the Brain in Fall 2021 and Metabolism in Spring 2022.

I am a Brigham Young University graduate with a Bachelor degree in chemistry. I believe learning and mastering an academic subject can be a challenging yet extremely rewarding experience. I strive to boost my students' confidence in their ability to learn and understand concepts by helping them to recognize and utilize their individual learning style. I believe anyone can achieve academic succeed when given the right tools.

I am a graduate of UC San Diego with a Bachelors in Neuroscience through the Psychology department. After graduating, I went to Michigan Technological University and did some graduate work, before moving to Texas to be closer to my parents. I did my alternative certification program through Texas Teachers and am highly qualified to teach Science for grades 7-12. I have been a teacher in public and charter schools for the last four years, and have tutoring experience extending over ten years behind me as well.

I'm a sophomore at Duke University. I'm pre-med studying psychology with a minor in biology and chemistry. I work in the admissions office as a tour guide and I love getting to know high schoolers interested in the college admissions process!

I'm Toni, a college English professor looking to help you better engage with your learning interests! As a professor, my teaching style emphasizes active learning as a central component, aiming to make my classes more centered on students discovering the material and constructing their own knowledge. In teaching and tutoring, I see myself more as a facilitator of learning who provides students the necessary tools and direction for them to uncover the concepts themselves. Soon we will engage in this process of discovery together!

I am currently fluent in English and Spanish, conversational in Italian, and I'll be tackling Mandarin next. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from the University of Oklahoma with an emphasis in Acting. I was lucky enough to attend OU on a National Merit Scholarship that covered my expenses almost entirely, so the National Merit qualification process is one that I deeply believe in and understand. Successful test taking is as much a product of understanding the test itself as it is the material being covered, and having one on one guidance in understanding how to take a test can markedly improve a score. An important part of gaining that understanding is working in the ways that each student learns best. In fact, I think that is one of the most fulfilling things about tutoring: finding the learning methods innate in each student and helping shape those instincts into tools for learning any material.

I am starting medical school this fall at the University of California, Davis and am excited to begin my life long journey of not only treating others, but teaching my peers.

I am currently Pursuing a PhD in Religious Studies at SMU. My ultimate career goal is to become a college professor, but I love working with students of all levels. I tutor Spanish, Religious Studies, SAT and GRE writing and verbal, as well as essay writing and editing. I can help with college admissions essays as well. I especially enjoy helping students with their writing. I find that the process of learning to write a clear and well-argued essay can help students become better communicators and gain confidence sharing their opinions both inside and outside of the classroom. These are skills they can use for the rest of their lives. Since I too once struggled with finding the confidence to communicate my thoughts both aloud and in writing, I am passionate about nurturing confidence in the students I work with. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy reading, cooking, playing the viola, and relaxing with friends.
