I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern State University and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma. I am a skilled mentor and teacher. As an attorney, I currently handle sustainability law, environmental law and contracts. I have experience with developing mission sustainability plans for U.S. military bases that enhance long-term sustainability of testing and training operations. I have developed workshops and educational programs on goal setting, plan implementation, and stakeholder development. I have presented at national conferences on the topic of climate change adaptation planning and water management planning in water-stressed areas. I have also volunteered as an AmeriCorps Watershed Ambassador for the state of New Jersey and assessed the health of neighborhood streams in the Rancocas Creek Watershed, taught in the classroom and educational workshops on a variety of environmental issues, and trained citizen volunteers of all ages in the science of stream monitoring. In college, I was a member of the ROTC program. Upon graduation, I was commissioned as an officer in the Army. My military stint included a tour of duty in the Republic of Korea.

I graduated from high school as salutatorian and graduated from Saint Louis University as a Biology major while taking a multitude of Psychology classes, I believe I have the knowledge and skill set to guide students in whatever areas they are struggling with, while providing study tools and techniques they'll be able to utilize throughout their entire educational career. If students have any sort of interest in the health care field, I would have be able to give them advice from my perspective, having completed my first year at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and currently doing research in Immunology and Interventional Radiology.

Most recently she was the Communications Specialist for Defenders of Wildlife. She is an internationally-recognized storyteller whose work has been featured on NBC, PBS NewsHour, International Journalists Network, and NPR's science radio program WHYY The Pulse. She received her Master of Science in Journalism (Science Concentration) degree from Columbia Journalism School. A scientist-turned-journalist, she received her University Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Saint Joseph's University, and has worked in wildlife conservation for over a decade.

My name is Margaret Lee, and I just graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Rochester this past May where I also played on the women's soccer team. I was a peer tutor at my school, and now I am tutoring on the side.

I graduated from the University of Washington in 2009 with a BA in Linguistics and BS in Technical Communication. While at the UW, I was able to develop both my teaching and tutoring skills, teaching seminars to incoming freshmen and volunteering in the Engineering Writing Lab. Since graduating, I have pursued a career in environmental conservation where I have had many opportunities to teach and work with students. In the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee, I led curriculum-based programs within the park as part of the local Parks as Classrooms program. In my previous job at the Washington Conservation Corps, I co-developed and ran a training related to local ecology, and I developed and ran a workshop on resume and cover letter writing that I was asked to present to the entire organization after its initial success.I love language and all parts of it, from grammar to vocabulary to public speaking. My speciality is essay writing and editing, which I believe can be made easy for anyone. I like to use a positive, supportive approach, and I do my best to cater my tutoring style to the needs of the student. I believe any writing task, no matter how overwhelming it seems at the get-go, can be broken down and simplified, and that everyone has the potential to be a great writer.In my spare time, I play a lot of ultimate frisbee and travel frequently to attend tournaments. I like to read and write, and I have just learned how to knit!

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Illinois at Chicago working toward a dual degree in french and biological sciences. I am pre-vet, so I love animals and pets! I have been studying the french language and culture for several years now and I absolutely adore it!I am a firm believer in the fact that understanding the culture is just as important as the language itself. Also, practice really does make perfect! Everyone learns differently, so my goal is to help you figure out how you learn best so that we can use it!I also have a strong science background which includes chemistry, biology, and math.

I have taken several (IB, AP, and collegiate) courses in each and have received accolades for my high marks in all three disciplines. I have also taken a specialized course in Tutoring Theory during my undergraduate career, which was a rigorous semester-long workshop to train tutors for working in a walk-in tutoring center. The course was intense in its focus on all of the idiosyncrasies of formal tutoring - we even practiced ESL tutoring with students from Aichi, Japan. I have also served as a tutor in my university's library for both English and Philosophy. For art, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for Acting I, where the chair of the department has personally commended my work in the class. Most of all, however, I am delighted to share my learning with other students and hope that I can walk out of every session just as enlightened, intrigued, and happy as the tutee.

In order to pursue my passion for learning, I chose to study philosophy during my time at Colorado College. Upon graduating, I used those skills to further pursue another passion of mine, rock climbing. I worked as a climbing guide, bringing people from all walks of life into my world and out of their comfort zones. I learned how to gently push people past their fears. I learned how to use a combination of encouragement and technical knowledge to help people reach their goals. I learned how to read people and find the roots of their struggles. Through this, I could discover the best way to approach each individual and create a plan of action that worked best for their unique needs. Through all of this, I learned of my passion for teaching. I went on to start tutoring students and combined both the critical thinking skills and technical knowledge from my degree in philosophy with the teaching skills that I learned from guiding climbing. I worked with students in a variety of subjects from math, to history, to writing. In every subject, I was able to help lead my students into developing their own critical thinking skills. I also encountered some of the same fear that I saw from people 100 feet up a rock face. I used my guiding experience to help one student overcome what had become a debilitating and illogical fear of math in order for her to pass a college placement test (which she had failed many times previously) so that she could go on to pursue her own passion of fashion design. Through all of my experiences, I have continued to pursue my passion for learning, and I hope to cultivate a similar passion in each of my students.
