I've been a volunteer math tutor for high school and elementary students. I was a foster parent of a new teenager and a scoutmaster or assistant. I worked 32 years at NASA/GSFC doing operational navigational support of satellites, research in solar astronomy, and writing software. I taught college physics labs and gave planetarium lectures to those of all ages.

I am a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Teaching. I have experience teaching both high school and middle school math. I am passionate about all areas of math, and I love helping students better understand math because it is such an essential subject. I especially enjoy teaching algebra classes because algebra is an important building block for all other math concepts. Helping a student understand a math concept that they have struggled with for so long brings me an immense amount of joy. I like to use visuals and hands-on activities when teaching, but most importantly, I like to discover what my students' individual learning styles are and teach to their specific needs.

Math has always been my favorite topic in school. Over the last 5 years, I have enjoyed applying my quantitative reasoning skills towards an exciting career in electrical engineering. I look forward to helping others overcome their academic challenges and inspiring others to have a passion for mathematics.

I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, Nigeria, and proceeded to complete a Master's degree also in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu, Nigeria. After a period of work as an Electrical Engineer in the industry, I returned to school and obtained an Earned Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria. Thereafter, I joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria, where I taught for 9 years as a Senior Lecturer. In my long years working as Electrical Engineer, I have been a private tutor teaching Mathematics with joy to high school students including my own kids who benefited from my domiciliated approach to Mathematics employing household models with which students are most familiar and quite relaxed. This strategy of minimizing the amount of abstraction in thinking mathematics at foundational levels gave my pre-university students huge successes in admissions. This technique was also successful in teaching Mathematical and Electrical Engineering courses. Teaching Mathematics and Sciences should initially be dovetailed into the student's own vocabulary set and instancing well-known environment before subsequently carrying them up to standardized language and concepts. It is my desire and excitement to ease off the bottlenecks in the way of students learning Mathematics and Electrical Engineering. In addition to teaching Mathematics and Engineering, I played soccer as a hobby and lead ecumenical actions in my city.

I have previously tutored with a company called The Tutoring Center in subject areas such as middle grades math, algebra, pre-algebra, and reading. My favorite subject to tutor is biology because it was my major while in college. My tutoring style is tailored to the needs of each respective student.

I am currently attending the University of Washington, Seattle, pursuing my Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry with ACS certification and a minor in mathematics. Hoping to research and synthesize medicine/pharmaceuticals to treat blood disorders.I previously earned my Associate's of Arts through Pierce College, with strong focus in chemistry, biology, and mathematics.I tutored for three years through Pierce College, focusing on chemistry, biology, and mathematics. I was a mentor in this position, and trained new tutors that were hired for similar subjects. I created multiple resources specified to organic chemistry due to the ratio of students to tutors to provide assistance.Through Pierce College, I also was hired as a TA for two years for general and organic chemistry. I was a mentor to this position as well, training newly hired staff members on ways to conduct group activities to promote learning and engagement with sciences.I thoroughly enjoy tutoring chemistry, because it is fascinating to consider how such small interacting pieces of matter can be so specific and have dynamic changes in properties with seemingly minor changes. This is especially evident when studying stereochemistry, comparing medicines that can be life-saving or toxic based on the orientation of the molecule.My hobbies include drawing, music, jogging, painting, and finding new places to nap.I thoroughly enjoy videogames that engage critical thinking skills, strategy and planning (not a fan of Call of Duty or anything along those lines...).Available to tutor in person near Everett or Seattle.

I love to see students go from describing themselves as "not a math person" to feeling like they meet exciting challenges in math and other parts of their lives. Even though I love working in the classroom, I feel like tutoring allows me to make more of an impact and connect with students.

I'm a math and chemistry major with a teaching minor. I love enriching young minds with knowledge. I would like to be a college professor at some point.

I'm an incoming Junior at Northwestern University with a double-major in Statistics and Organizational Change. Through my previous work as a math tutor, camp counselor, and current Peer Adviser (orientation leader), I've developed a passion for helping others achieve their goals, especially in academic settings.
