I have been a private tutor for over 6 years. My first assignments were requests from classmates to assist them in Pre-AP Chemistry and Mathematics. I attended Texas State Honors Math Camp to advance my mathematical skills where I learned to collaborate and gained exposure to different ways of explaining and conceptualizing mathematical problems. I have also worked with teenagers as a residential camp counselor and as well as teaching a New York City Ballet dancer for an accelerated GED high school certification program. My vast international travel and academic background has enabled me to effectively adapt and strategize for a variety of courses and tests. I am a student at DePaul University, working on a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with minors in Sociology and Economics. I've been tutoring other students and helping my peers since I was in high school. I value clear and efficient communication, organization, and punctuality. I'm a proficient writer and active photographer for my personal business, Waffle Iron Photography, as well as one of my campus publications, Intersections. In my free time, I enjoy reading autobiographies and comic books, and expanding an ever-growing collection of teas.

My passion is math. You don't hear that often, do you? I'm a 3rd year math student at the University of Texas at Austin. I've been tutoring ever since high school, and I truly love it. Both of my parents are math teachers, so I think it runs in the family. I've have taken every kind of math you can think of (and a lot of maths you've never heard of). I've continued to tutor because of the amazing students I work with, and to see their passion for math grow is inspiring. Not a lot of students out there care for math, but I'm hoping to change that.

I'm a graduate having acquired a Masters and Bachelors Degree in engineering from the University of Central Oklahoma.I am very well versed in math and science courses, mostly physics and engineering from my experience as an engineering student. I have experience with college prep and GRE testing as well, with an emphasis on math/quantitative reasoning.

I am a special ed Algebra 1 high school teacher. I understand what students struggle with, especially when it comes to learning disabilities as I have ADHD and have trouble with focusing. I have privately tutored grade levels K-12 as well as a few college students.I love music, mostly hip hop/rap. Whether I am at home or in the car, I am always listening to something. Health is important to me and I enjoy lifting and running. I used to play soccer when I was younger, and ran cross country and track in high school.I have a lot of patience and am easy to get along with. My clients always feel comfortable with me and I am good at adapting the conversation so that you have a positive learning experience.

Through the studies and skills obtained in college and continuing professional development seminars and classes, I have become proficient in classroom management, collaboration, increasing community involvement, integrating technology and focusing on increased parental involvement. By working in a consumer friendly industry for the past five years and through substitute teaching, I have become proficient in communication with faculty, administration, students and parents, and thus distinguishing me from many others. Communication is the key to effective classroom management and students becoming life-long learners. I am able to apply knowledge from the many clubs and student-center activities I have been involved in over the past years to allow my students to instill a sense of worth and thus striving for success.Also, my intense technology background has allowed technology to become an asset in my classrooms, allowing students to see and relate real life experiences to classroom knowledge. With technology expanding and becoming a necessity to the development of well rounded students, I feel as though I will allow my students to rise above and succeed beyond by incorporating technology on a daily basis.
