I graduated from American University in May 2014 with a B.A. in Political Science, where I also completed the pre-medical program. After graduation, I had a research internship at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in a flow cytometry lab, which specializes in research for malaria vaccine development. After my research internship ended, I began attending the University of Maryland, College Park as a post-baccalaureate student seeking a second degree in General Biology (B.S.), which I obtained in August 2016.My extensive educational background and previous research experiences at WRAIR and Johns Hopkins gave me the opportunity to learn how to communicate complex scientific ideas through discussions, presentations, and writing. I would like to apply the knowledge I have obtained about the molecular, biomolecular, and cellular levels of biology to tutoring students who need help in understanding various concepts in biology.
