I am a sophomore at Duke University studying computer science and physics. Academically, I am drawn towards disciplines that employ logical problem-solving. I enjoy working with others to discover new intuitive ways of understanding problems.

I am a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and Duke University. I received my Bachelor's degree in History and my Master's degree in Religious Studies. Since graduation I have tutored students in American History and Biblical Hebrew, which were exceedingly rewarding experiences. I am especially passionate in helping students learn to think critically, and enjoy the process of learning. While I tutor a variety of subjects, I am most enthusiastic about tutoring in History and Writing because these subjects utilize skills that students will use and cultivate throughout their lives and are applicable for many careers. I would describe my teaching philosophy as hands on and project-based learning. I strive to include fun and relevant videos, songs, and activities into my curriculum to ensure the engagement of my students. Outside of academia I like painting, baking, hiking, photography, and having game nights with friends.
I am a certified EE Engineer. I received my master's degree in Electrical Engineering in 2019 from the University of Texas at Tyler with a focus in Power and Energy System. During my master's degree I worked as Teaching Assistant and Instructor. I mentored various years of undergrad students; mostly engineering courses such as circuit theory, electronic I & II, mathematics, and Power System. I tutored few students to pass their FE. Also, I taught 24 senior year undergrad students on two collegiate courses and conducted respective labs independently. Therefore, while tutoring/lecturing on a various courses, I am very passionate about all topics of mathematics, statistics, and all EE courses. Since graduation, I have involved heavily in industry. I mentored my two junior electrical engineer to pass their PE. I also mentor newly fresh college graduate to help them understanding the practical as well as technical aspects of engineering. I am a strong advocate of education, learning new things every day, believing it to be mandatory for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all my students. In my leisure time, I like to read new things which gives me a feeling of accomplishment which, in turn, boots my confidence in my own capabilities, play cricket, watching documentaries, and doing exercise.
I am a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University. I am working towards a BFA in Dance and Choreography with minors in Political Science and Psychology. I have served as a TA for a freshman honors writing course at VCU since Fall 2018. I have also assisted and taught children's dance classes. I enjoy babysitting and helping my younger sister with her homework. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Math, Science, and Psychology. I am also happy to help students prepare for Standardized Tests, particularly with the math portions of the exams. I have always felt respect and admiration towards my teachers in both smaller and more grand situations who have shaped me into the lifelong learner that I am. As a tutor, my goal is to make good on this foundation and show students the same courtesy my teachers have shown me.
I am Professor Florence. I teach at USC, UCSB, Pepperdine University, CSUN, Cal Tech, and other Universities. I received my bachelor's in Math and Psychology at UCLA, Ph.D. work in Engineering at Virginia Tech, and MBA in Marketing and New Venture Management at USC. I graduated at the top of my class, Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude, Highest Honors, full fellowships, and more. I am an expert on:
I am so excited to help you work through your learning journey! I promise you're smarter than you think. Let's figure this out together!

I am an experienced tutor for STEM fields, writing/reading comprehension, as well as standardized test prep. My background is in mathematics and chemistry, but I also have done work in writing and journalism. I am available to tutor all ages through high school and will tailor my tutoring form to fit your specific needs and learning style. I am originally from Milford Pennsylvania, but currently resided in the research triangle of North Carolina. I attended Boston College for my undergraduate education, majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Medical Humanities. I attend Tufts University School of Medicine for my M.S. in Biomedical Sciences. Next year I will pursue my PhD at Duke University. I love helping tutor and work with students of all ages, helping them to improve their understanding of material and their grades/scores. I hope we can work together to help you achieve your goals.
I'm Erintrude, a recent graduate of Kenyon College and an MFA candidate at NCSU. I have two years of experience tutoring elementary level reading and writing for two different families, and miscellaneous tutoring experience in the fields of French, English and Test Prep (SAT and ACT). As a co-founder and head editor of a publishing press at my college, for a year and a half I have run workshops where I assigned contemporary literature, and taught these pieces to deepen reader's comprehension. Currently I am teaching a class of high schoolers in a summer program offered by the publishing press. I have experience with World Literature and translation studies as well. I'm passionate about language and I'm passionate about understanding. I tailor my teaching to the student, and in that sense we grow together in an environment of patience, support, and love for learning.
I am a semi-retired adult who does not wish to sit idle. Instead, I prefer to plant good seeds into the lives of others. Further, I have discovered that I not only love to teach but that I am quite good at it.
I am a lifelong learner, and I look forward to helping students with their studies as I work through my own. After graduating Princeton, I worked at a number of tech firms, including Google, but I've recently found myself back in the classroom as I prepare to pursue a PhD in Psychology.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Raleigh spans 17 school districts serving over 63,000 students across 136 schools, and Varsity Tutors connects students from all of them with personalized 1-on-1 instruction. Whether your student attends a Wake County school, a charter school, or any other district in the area, we match them with tutors who understand local curriculum standards and can provide targeted support aligned with their school's expectations.
Your first session is an opportunity for the tutor to understand your student's current level, learning style, and specific goals—whether that's improving grades, preparing for standardized tests, or mastering challenging concepts in core subjects. The tutor will ask questions about what's working and what isn't, then create a personalized plan to address your student's needs. Most families find that even the first session provides clarity on next steps.
Tutors working with Raleigh students are familiar with North Carolina's Standard Course of Study and the specific benchmarks students need to meet at each grade level. They can target instruction toward state assessments, help close gaps in foundational skills, and support students through challenging transitions—like moving from elementary to middle school math or tackling algebra for the first time. This localized expertise means your student gets support that directly connects to what their school expects.
Math and reading comprehension are the most common areas where Raleigh students seek support, particularly during transitions between grade levels and when preparing for standardized tests. While Raleigh schools maintain an average student-teacher ratio of 13.2:1, which is solid by national standards, personalized 1-on-1 tutoring offers something classrooms can't: instruction tailored entirely to one student's pace, learning style, and goals. The best way to understand pricing for your situation is to connect with us directly; we're happy to discuss what's available and help you find a plan that works for your family.
