I graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2014. I received my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and Child Studies. I graduated from Vanderbilt with teaching licensure for Pre-K through third grade in the state of Tennessee. I am originally from New York so, while I loved living in Nashville, I decided that I wanted to move back to New York to receive my Master's degree. I am currently attending Teachers College, Columbia University and I am in a dual Elementary Inclusive Education and Special Education program. I have been working with kids in varied settings such as in classrooms, tutoring groups, one-on-one, in camps, and more, since I was in high school. While I tutor a broad range of subjects and grades, I am most passionate about teaching Reading and Math at the Elementary level. Part of the reason I am drawn to the field of education is because teachers must be life-long learners. I am aim to foster a love of learning in my student. I recently obtained my M.F.A. in Acting from Brown University/Trinity Rep in Providence, Rhode Island, where I also taught undergraduate classes and tutored introductory Economics. Over the past ten years, I have taught additional classes in acting, history, musical theater, and even swimming! It is my experience that all students learn differently, and I enjoy finding with each student the best path for optimal results. I am currently an undergrad at Vanderbilt University, majoring in Mathematics and Political Science. I have been tutoring students since high school, mostly in science and math. I've found that STEM courses are intimidating to many students, and I hope to get rid of that fear and promote an appreciation for numbers and the sciences. In my tutoring, I focus on helping students understand the concepts beneath the problems, so as to facilitate learning rather than memorization. I strongly believe that every student is capable of reaching a strong level of understanding in any subject, given the correct tools, a teacher who can offer what they need, and some hard work.I am also available for standardized test prep. The SAT and ACT are one of the biggest hurdles in the college admissions process, and a score can make or break an application. Luckily, students can prepare for these tests fairly easily - repetition, time-management, and concept-review are all most students need to improve their scores, and I am happy to teach them how to do it.In my free time, I enjoy hiking, running, reading books about international politics and history, watching TV and movies, and listening to music.

I hold a BS degree from Vanderbilt University where I triple-majored in Special Education, Secondary Education and Mathematics. I also have a JD degree from Emory University School of Law. In between those two degrees, I spent a number of years teaching Math and Special Education in Ethiopia and in the United States. Hello! My name is Ryan. I was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming, but I have been all around the country and world since then. I studied economics and international business at Gonzaga University in Washington state, interned in South Africa and Washington D.C., was a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic, and won a Fulbright grant to go to Mexico. I am about to begin an MBA program at Vanderbilt University.I recognize how fortunate I've been to have these opportunities, but I also know that they exist for anyone dedicated enough to pursue them. Over the next several years, I intend to continue my career as a translational clinician-researcher, with a specific focus on child development, early intervention, newborn hearing screenings, aural rehabilitation, assistive technology, auditory neuroscience, psychosocial skills/language growth for youth with hearing loss, advocacy for families with multiple disabilities, and enhancing healthcare access to underserved communities.

I had a strong disposition for learning languages growing up in a Spanish speaking household and I decided to get my B.A. in Classical Languages and Philosophy at Vanderbilt University. Today, I am a post-baccalaureate student at the University of Pennsylvania. Because I see myself primarily as a philologist, I am studying in order to enter a Ph.D program. I believe that language is one of the primary factors in shaping how we, as individuals, think and present our ideas to the world. I am also a proponent of teaching Classical languages such as Latin and Ancient Greek to students in high school because these languages require the development of analytic capabilities which are sometimes lacking in other more memory-oriented subjects. Furthermore, my education in the Classics does not only focus on linguistics but also on history, mythology, and culture. I studied abroad in Rome for five months in the Spring semester of 2011 through the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies. During my time in Rome, I learned Italian, got to see landmarks of antiquity such as the Roman Forum, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Syracuse, Baiae, and see Medieval Italy through the artworks of Michelangelo and Bernini. Consequentially, I have a strong grasp of historical occurrences in Europe from antiquity to contemporary society. In other words, I get paid (peanuts) to chase plastic. I attended Vanderbilt University Nashville, TN where I majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Since graduating in May 2014, I applied to medical school and will be attending New York Medical College in August. When I’m not studying, I enjoy staying active by running, biking, hiking, and doing yoga. I also enjoy looking at and creating art. I’m not fantastic at realism and subsequently stick to collages and abstract work. Of all the subjects I tutor, my favorite is biology.
