While I was a student at the University of Oregon, I tutored international students at the University of Oregon American English Institute. I helped students with English conversation, grammar, essay-writing, proofreading, grammar, etc. After I received my BA in Psychology, I moved to Korea to teach English. In Korea, I taught a number of different subjects to everyone from elementary students up to executives for Samsung and Hyundai. I also spent nearly four years as a curriculum developer at one of South Korea's leading education companies. As a curriculum developer, I made learning assessments, teaching materials, textbooks, and lesson plans.I tutor in the following subjects:-ESL-Reading-Grammar-Math-Science... in addition to much more. While I enjoy all of these subjects, I especially love reading and grammar. There are a lot of different ways to approach teaching these two subjects and it allows me to be creative when I am thinking of lessons! When teaching, I think it is important for a teacher to make a good, solid connection with his or her students. Without a connection, its hard for the student to trust his or her teacher. I try connecting to my students by being open minded and honest. I am also optimistic by nature and enthusiastic about teaching which helps make students feel at ease when they are with me.During my free time I enjoy reading, cooking, watching movies, and making crafts. I am also a huge fan of museums, so you might see be perusing one on a rainy afternoon :)

I have a long history with one-on-one learning beginning as a high schooler when I first began teaching drum lessons. I continued to teach lessons through college and additionally began helping peers with their writing difficulties. I believe every student can be an outstanding writer or test-taker, the key is just to find the right individual approach. Students aren't all alike and there's no one right way to learn. I really value the chance to find the method that works best for each student and to watch them succeed.Outside of tutoring, I am a musician and social media consultant. I enjoy hikes, cooking, and games of all types, particularly chess and Magic: the Gathering.

I reclaim the ability of teaching as the dimension of power to cultivate the lives of adult minds, prospective students, and executive professionals. Education as a purpose and a passion has become second nature to me as I have thegreatest opportunity to empower those around me, showing where education can conclude. Being able to serveothers while still advancing my education is one of the best ways to use student minds to help the placement of newdimensions of educational platforms. Utilizing the capability of technology as a basic reference, I have been able toembrace all aspects of education by a preference rather than a negative choice. This has given me the optimisticability to become empowered with education and technology. Implementing these materials into the society ofprofessional learners gives each student the ability to see change within their professional and educational life.Using my ability as a person of color and as a facilitator for education and navigator, it is my intention to enhancethe learning spectrum as a transformative experience in the professional and the educational world. Ideally, when astudent transforms into further education, they are taking on the responsibility of seeking out knowledge. Personally, the student wants to feel changed by the professor's assistance and the course materials. I bring the benefits of beingan accomplished diverse professional in the business and academic fields towards the higher education profession. Ibelieve that based on my management, experience, publications, and graduate credit hours, I could be qualified forthis position in higher education.

My teaching style tends to focus around a combination of Progressive, Humanistic, and Radical pedagogy/andragogy. That is to say, I center the experiences and learning styles of each student at the core of the learning process.I am a quick and creative problem-solver who is able to adapt to different learning environment and different students' needs quickly, using a variety of learning tools.I have a Master's degree in Educational Leadership & Policy with a focus on Post-secondary Adult & Continuing Education. My professional background in this field means that I am able to build clear and concise curriculum that centers around a student's learning needs. In areas of preparing students for testing, I am particularly adept at helping learners develop quick and quality essay writing skills to cut down on test time.I believe in interdisciplinary education, meaning that I connect related subjects together in order to guide students towards a deeper understanding of whatever topics they are currently tackling. I find that this interdisciplinary approach also helps students in honing critical thinking and critical analysis skills by developing a habit of seeing the real-world connections and context of their subject matter.I am best suited towards aiding high school students and adult community college/freshman and junior university level students.

I first began to experience what it was like to teach students while I was studying at Oregon State University. I was a teaching intern for Human Anatomy & Physiology for 2 years, and found it extremely gratifying and rewarding to be able to work closely with students and help them understand such a complex subject. I received my Bachelors of Science in BioHealth Sciences and a Minor in Chemistry in 2016, and recently applied to medical school. I am passionate and comfortable with any type of science, specifically biology, chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology. I have experience with all types of teaching styles that can appeal to any type of learner, and am comfortable working with students one on one or in groups. Outside of academics, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, exercising, and being outside, whether it be on a beach or on the mountains!
