About Me

I am a 2015 graduate of Northwestern University, with an undergraduate journalism major/Spanish minor and a graduate degree in journalism. During my time at NU, I spent a semester at Madrid's top-ranked university, taking upper-level history and literature courses with Spanish students. I now work at a trade magazine in Midtown covering real estate. My tutoring experience ranges from first-grade students memorizing their first set of vocabulary words to gifted middle schoolers working three grades ahead in language arts to stressed-out seniors applying to college. No matter the age or subject at hand, I try to bring a sense of process and purpose to my sessions, creating original lesson plans to supplement class materials. My ideal session ends with a student understanding not only individual problems, but also connecting concepts to other coursework, feeling confident about the class or material in the future. Outside of my current job in financial media and my evenings tutoring, I'm training for a half Ironman. I also enjoy exploring new spots in NYC, especially anywhere involving desserts.
