I have been teaching high school chemistry, AP Chemistry, and AP Biology for the past three years. I also work with an after school STEM enrichment program for elementary school students, so I have experience with many grade levels. Prior to being a classroom teacher, I tutored individuals and small groups in Organic Chemistry as a college student. What I enjoy the most about teaching and tutoring is seeing students who initially don’t know how to approach a problem get that “lightbulb moment” when the solution becomes clear. Science can be challenging, but also incredibly rewarding to learn.
My educational background is in Biology and Psychology. Both of my parents are chemists so I have been surrounded by science education my whole life. When I am not reading or lesson planning, I enjoy playing with my dog and spending as much time outside as possible!
