Having an engineer as a father, and a teacher for a mother, I developed a deep passion for numbers and the art of using right methodologies and resources to teach. It was then natural for me to help my family and friends in their studies. In this journey, I later tutored at Bloomfield Colleges Learning Center for years and graduated with Honors with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Mathematics.
I am convinced that math goes beyond its general misconception. So, instead of students having to portray it as difficult and boring, I use my enthusiasm and passion to reveal the fun part that it conceals. For me, everything we define as being successful is a mix of all that is within us (knowledge, emotions, etc.) and the actions that we take to achieve our goals.
With such a belief and seven official years of tutoring, I strive to help students feeling happy and confident in their learning process, knowing better their subject, and being able to act and steer their own education to succeed. My experience as a tutor has further helped me distinguishing the roots of each problem in students so that I can add more values and take off hindrances to their development.
From the fact that each person is unique, I individually customize my teaching methods as I get to know the student and create an atmosphere of collaboration to instigate their commitment. I am very tolerant and will take the time that is necessary to completely understand the material. I am also very friendly and enjoy finding creative and enjoyable ways to help students moving forward and using what they learn in life. I will for example use drawings, pictures, videos, anything that is more practical for the student to feel comfortable and be successful in the learning process.
I have a BS in Finance with minors in Math and have tutored many levels of Math from elementary to calculus for years. I work with students of all ages and help them overcome their fear of math. I do this by showing them how to approach a problem in many forms and reach perfection with practice.
I am a native French speaker and have studied for 14 years in the language. I have tutored for years students of all ages before and after moving in the USA. I love reading and writing in French which continuously help me sharpening my skills and increasing my creativity. I also enjoy using ways of teaching how to speak and write in French, explaining its different parts, and making the students feel like a native speaker.
I'm willing to work with your schedule to help meet your needs. I welcome any suggestion, so feel free to contact me for any concerns.
