I am a graduate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a major in Mathematics & Statistics and a minor in Computer Science. I’m currently studying for actuarial exams, although I’m thinking about the possibility of pursuing a graduate degree in math instead. I have experience tutoring students on a wide range of mathematical subjects, from early high school through late college. I enjoy helping students learn not just how to do math, but how to understand it – not just memorizing formulas, but understanding what they mean, and how they can be derived from more basic concepts. Most of all, I like to help guide students to uncovering concepts on their own, which can help them to feel confident in their abilities and understand why math is fun.
