I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Lomonosov Moscow Sate University, Moscow, Russia with an M.S. in Physiology followed by a Ph.D. in Cardiovascular Physiology from the same University. While completing my undergraduate studies, I was a Biology Teaching Assistant for advanced high school students. During my professional research years, I was in charge of numerous intense courses for undergraduate and graduate students in Physiology, Pharmacology, Cellular Biology and Laboratory Practice. I have three years of experience as an elementary Math helper.
I have a great passion for Biology and enthusiasm for teaching it. It is very important to not only memorize facts, but teach students to think, speak, and write with clarity, precision, and independence. I deeply enjoy tailoring a program for individual student needs and seeing progress and results in education. I like to structure my lessons so it will be easier for students and parents to follow the process. I believe that a positive attitude and supportive environment will help my students in the long run. My teaching style includes deep student engagement via questions and discussions, many visual aids and materials, fun tasks for curious learners, and age appropriate games. Through my research career, I have become an effective communicator in a cross-functional and multicultural environment, which helps significantly during teaching.
Outside of teaching I enjoy traveling with my family, spending time with my friends, being outdoors, reading and crocheting.
