I graduated from Butler University with a degree in secondary education and a focus on Child Development and Design and Textiles. After college, I went on to become certified as a litigation paralegal at The Philadelphia Institute for Paralegal Training. After working as paralegal for five years, I started a family and started my own business as a furniture consultant and upholsterer. I've taught from preschoolers all the way up to women and men in their late 60's. When the internet started, I began writing online for big home furnishings content creators. From there, I continued as an online content creator, an online course creator, and a published author in my field. I own a brick and mortar DIY Workshop where I teach women and girls skills and power tools so that they feel empowered to create. I have three independent, well educated grown children who live all over the United States. I traveled to Wales in 2013 to train in traditional upholstery and continued my travels to London and Paris. I also spent two weeks in Berlin visiting my who was living there tutoring Syrian refugees in German. I continue to create tutorials and teach classes and workshops online and in person.
As for as tutoring, I know how much a tutor helped my youngest son when he struggled in Math. I could have used a tutor when I was in grade school, so I want to help students become more proficient in reading and communicating. It's so important in this time.
