I am passionate about helping young people, because it's the best way that I know to make the world a better place. I always approach my work with this question at the forefront of my mind: what is best for the student?
I have been a high school teacher for more than 20 years and I currently hold a valid teaching license from the State of Iowa with endorsements in following areas: All Social Studies, French, and Arabic. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Northridge; and a Master of Arts in International Affairs from the Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. I am a dedicated guitar player and composer who has put out multiple releases of original, finger style, acoustic and electric guitar music. My style is eclectic and can be loosely classified as 'neo-classical'. I also teach the instrument and post instructional videos on my YouTube channel. I also like to spend time with my family, ride my bike, travel, hike, play frisbee, read, and cook.
