I am currently and educator at The Florida Aquarium and have found my passion finding people's "Aha Moments". One of my favorite parts about working with people of all ages at my work is being able to see their level of knowledge and be able to build upon that in some manner.
I am working on my B.S. in Animal Health and Behavior at Unity College Distance Education and have taken coursework in Biology, Education, Chemistry, and Marine Sciences.
Science has always appealed to me as a kid, and was always active in Science Fairs, at home experiments, and loved my classes at school in science. I have a passion for Biology as well as Marine Sciences, since that is where my job is predominately focused on.
In my Education courses through college, I have found my teaching philosophy to be the hands-on approach. I have found myself alongside many classmates to be more involved in the coursework when there was an active or hands-on approach to the subject.
When not teaching or helping others learning something new, one could find me spending the day with my dogs, doing some arts and crafts, or spending the day outside at the pool or the beach.
