I am a graduate of Carleton College in Minnesota, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Classics. I am currently in a Ph.D. program in Mathematics at CU Boulder, although I am also interested in learning more Computer Science. I am passionate about all levels of Mathematics, from the foundations in elementary school through Calculus and above, where there are amazing connections. My experiences tutoring math comes from helping classmates during high school and college, and working with 6th graders through a community service program at my school. I also have experience coaching chess to students aged 4-13, and giving tours at a national monument. I believe that, in math, it is important to understand the concepts and why math is important and relevant, in addition to how to perform the steps. Above all, I love math and I want to help others appreciate it too. In my spare time I enjoy reading, knitting, board and card games such as cribbage and chess, solving puzzles, soccer, and walking my dog.
