I received my Bachelor of Arts in International Business and Spanish at Canisius College, then went to Buffalo State College to complete a Post-Baccalaureate program in Spanish Education, grades 7-12. Finally, I received my Masters degree from Walden University in Adolescent Literacy and Technology. During my education, and still today, my passion is for travel and language. I was fortunate enough to have many different experiences traveling abroad, oftentimes with my High School classes in tow, and my main goal as a teacher and as a tutor is to bring alive the magic and the power of language and culture in my students.
I am strongly devoted to the field of education, as I have been working with young adults and teaching Spanish full time at the middle school and high school level for the past ten years. I am currently employed at Sweet Home Middle School as a Spanish teacher at the 7th and 8th grade level. Before that, I was employed at Tapestry Charter High School as a Spanish Teacher at the 10th grade level, and the Chair of the Languages Other Than English department. In my summers, I enjoy working in the field in a different way, tutoring small groups of students: from ESL students from Europe, to elementary students adopted from Colombia who want to practice their native language.
In my spare time, I really enjoy spending time with my family, playing with my dog, dancing at Zumba, and reading.
