I am a graduate of the University of Alaska – Fairbanks, where I received my undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Business Administration – Accounting. My Masters in Business Administration was earned at DeVry University, Keller Graduate School of Management. I had a diverse career in the accounting field, starting off as a revenue agent for the IRS and switching gears to work for private small businesses. Once I acquired my MBA I worked with high school and college students coaching each in their career plans. I have taught 10th grade English, community college accounting 101 and 102, and office administration. My work with high school students provided the opportunity to take a few courses in education at Ohio State University, courses that focused on students’ different learning styles. Applying some of the methods learned at OSU to my high school students helped each student pass the state standardized test required for graduation. I am privileged to have a dozen grandchildren with whom I spend much of my spare time. I also love nature walks and gardening. I have a passion for learning and love to share enthusiasm with struggling students. I have concluded that the more we know the more we realize how much we don’t know; therefore, we should learn something new every day. It is from the experience of learning that we develop enthusiasm and hope for our futures.
