I am a 2015 graduate of New Jersey Institute of Technology. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology while minoring in Applied Mathematics and Chemistry. Currently, I am a second-year medical student at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School with 5 years of private tutoring experience. I have primarily done private, one-on-one tutoring, though over the past year I have also tutored middle-school students at Philips Academy Charter School in mathematics. Most of my private students were taking the SATs, but I have also tutored students in math, biology, and chemistry.
I am most passionate about tutoring students in Math. I personally enjoy the subject matter greatly. Though it is a difficult and disliked topic for most students, I find my students after tutoring having taken control of their difficult subject and ready to pursue their own individual interests using their skills in math. I believe that education is a crucial and never-ending step in order for one to tackle even more important areas of life, such as family and careers. Furthermore, I believe that every student, regardless of grades, can master the art of learning, even for disliked subjects. I try to impart this to my students. Each student had different learning styles and areas of weaknesses and strengths. Since my experiences encompassed a wide range of age, culture, and personality in students, I learned to adapt to the students and to develop necessary skills in order to help them accomplish their goals. Before college, I was homeschooled, and that has allowed me to understand the importance of subject personalization, patience, and self- management. In my spare time, I enjoy basketball, reading, exercise, and discussing various intellectual topics with peers.
