Dr. McCarthy has extensive experience as a Music Educator and Conductor. She has directed Orchestras at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels, and has taught Music Theory, Music History, Piano and Brass/String instruments. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge as a Conductor of Orchestras, Musical Theater, and Opera, and has worked with ensembles from youth to professional levels. Dr. McCarthy has earned a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Orchestral Conducting from Michigan State University, a Master of Music Degree in Orchestral Conducting and French Horn Performance from East Carolina University, and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education from Ithaca College.
