I am currently a student at Whitworth University, heading into my senior year. I study Elementary Education with endorsements in Reading and English Language Learning. I have wanted to be an educator since I was a young child, and I'm very passionate about education. I've worked under mentor teachers in 4 different classrooms throughout the last 5 years, and I did a semester working as a virtual tutor this last school year. I am comfortable tutoring most elementary subjects, but my main focuses are in Reading and Math. I believe learning to read and read well is an essential life skill as well as beneficial to all education, and I always enjoy watching my students grow to love reading as much as I do. I have also always loved mathematics, and I find that most people can learn to enjoy math with a good teacher who can focus on students' individual needs. As an educator, I strive to teach my students to become lifelong learners, because education is not only important as you move through the school system, but as you continue to learn and grow throughout adulthood.
