I graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2007 with my BSN, it was an accelerated 1 yr. program due to my already having a bachelor's degree in another area. I worked as a RN in the ER, OR, Med-surge, Labor and Delivery until 2010, when I was accepted into graduate school. In 2012, I completed my master's for an Adult and Women's Health NP program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I certified for my Adult NP thru AANP and for Women's thru NCC. I have been practicing off and on as an NP since 7/2012. My passion is women's health and teaching women how to manage their health by being educated on their options. I have trained nursing students and nurse practitioner students thru the various clinics that I have worked in. I believe that applied knowledge is important, so not just knowing something but putting it into practice so that the effects can be viewed in a tangible way to help others.
