I am a graduate of the University of Notre Dame's M.Ed program and am also a certified member of the American Montessori Society. I am passionate about guiding children to discover the joy of learning as they develop mastery in a variety academic disciplines. My approach draws on the natural interests of each child and helps them connect learning to their experiences in daily life. I have 6 years of experience teaching and tutoring grades K-3 and have worked with many ELL students as well as homeschooling students. Language skills for elementary grades (English and Spanish) are my favorite subjects to tutor. I especially enjoy helping children with phonics, reading comprehension and writing as language unlocks a new world of imagination and stories to engage. I also find it particularly meaningful to support children in learning math since I struggled with math as a child. I am eager to encourage and motivate students to discover what interests and excites them as they build autonomy to become lifelong learners that contribute to a more just world.
