I am a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana where I received a Bachelor of Science degree focusing on Geology and Creative Writing. I also hold a graduate degree from East Carolina University, earning a Master of Arts in Teaching degree, specializing in Secondary Science Education and Geology. Since graduating from ECU, I have worked as an Earth Science Educator, teaching Earth Science and AP Environmental Science. I also, of course, love educating and tutor college-level students in geology or other earth science realms. As an educator, what I enjoy most is helping students navigate the scientific realm, and showing how they experience science in their day-to-life. Helping students draft or edit a paper or learning good study habits is another aspect of education that I hold dear as I spent two years of my undergraduate as a writing tutor. I believe that all students can find enjoyment in learning and I hope to share and generate that love of questing for knowledge in each student that I meet.
Education & Certification
Undergraduate Degree: University of Southern Indiana - Bachelor of Science, Geology
Graduate Degree: East Carolina University - Master of Arts Teaching, Science Teacher Education
As geology is one of my foremost passions, I enjoy trail walking, hiking, and, of course, rock and fossil collecting. When I am not outside enjoying nature and exploring national and state parks, I enjoy writing, listening to music, attending concerts, and occasionally playing video games.
