I am a student currently attending Haverford College in pursuit of a Bachelor's in Chemistry.
A bit about my background:
A teaching mindset has been something ingrained in me since a very young age (5 of my family members are teachers!). Throughout high school, I was well-regarded as an overachieving student who was exceedingly willing to help his classmates overachieve as well; study halls for me were more like teaching halls. This behavior has followed me into college, where I continue to actively help my classmates, and more recently, have begun tutoring. Since I have started tutoring, I have found it extremely rewarding. Few things in this world are more gratifying than seeing your student succeed.
What do I tutor, and why?:
As a senior in high school, I scored a 36 on the ACT, the highest score possible; however, and most importantly, I did so only after scoring a 27 and a 30 the two years prior. The lesson here is that I know what it takes to make drastic improvements to your ACT score. Should you elect to receive ACT tutoring from me, what I learned between scoring a 30 and a 36 is what I will teach you (but packaged into a neat curriculum). I know my curriculum is effective, because not only did I use it to improve, but all of my past students have improved with it as well! I also enjoy tutoring ACT prep. Training properly for the ACT cultivates a particular mindset for problem solving, making the test more like a puzzle than an assessment.
I teach a wide array of subjects aside from the ACT. I not only have a phenomenal academic background in math, science, and writing, but I adore these subjects as well. I can promise you this should I tutor you in any of these subjects: You won't be bored!
