As a rising sophomore pursuing a B.S in Environmental Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, I have learned through many years the importance of knowledge and sharing it with others. In my field, the goals and scope of challenges can be daunting, and it is only through collaboration, cooperation, and sharing of knowledge that progress is made.

My interest in tutoring was sparked by the positive experiences I had in mentoring sessions for Physics I during my first semester in college. I didn't initially think I would get much out of them, but I soon recognized how helpful and beneficial it was to have someone working through and guiding me through problems. It was this hands on interaction and collaborative learning that showed me the value and importance of mentors and tutors and the impact they could have on sharing knowledge. After this experience I knew I wanted to be a tutor.

I have always enjoyed helping others, and in school often work with friends through difficult problems. I know the value of having someone there to help you and work through problems together, having been both the helper and the helped. It is always a rewarding experience for both the teacher and the student, something I have experienced through being an assistant coach at baseball clinics.

Outside of school, I love baseball, skiing, and ultimate frisbee, and my favorite hobby is photography. I love photographing nature, and like that part of enjoying photography is being able to share it with others. Photography helps me think in new ways and look at things differently, skills I use in problem solving and explaining things. I like to challenge myself and think that doing so is the best way to learn and further your knowledge. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with you!
