I am currently a rising senior at Boston College double majoring in English and Secondary Education and minoring in Educational Theatre. To me, education is one of the most important tools we have in this world, and I would love to foster that notion in any way I can. I particularly love tutoring anything pertaining to English Language and Literature: ACT English/Reading, AP English Language and Literature, College Essay Writing and Editing, Grammar, Poetry, Shakespeare, Reading Strategies (especially poetry), and more.
In regards to my philosophy in tutoring, I promote an atmosphere in which my students will have fun, work diligently, and grow as critical readers and writers. My number one rule is having a judgement-free zone so that students can ask ANY questions they desire to ask because it is often the questions we don't ask that inhibit our growth as learners. Ultimately, I wish to build confidence in my students to show that they're unbelievably smart and can improve upon anything they wish. The newly acquired skills and greater self-confidence students will gain in my tutoring will help eliminate any test-taking anxiety and generate academic growth and success.
In my free time, you will find me acting, playing soccer and baseball with my friends, playing guitar, singing, reading, and working as a tour guide and panelist on Boston College's campus. In addition to teaching, acting remains my other main passion as it has helped me grow as a person and an educator.
I look forward to teaching and learning about my new students!
