I graduated from Bloomsburg University where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. During college I studied abroad in Australia for a semester where I had amazing experiences and exposure to not only a new country but also a different education system. Since college I have spent a year working with struggling students to help them not only prepare for assessments but also to understand the daily concepts they were learning. I have taught at both the middle school and high school levels, teaching a variety of math subjects ranging from basic math to higher level Algebra and Geometry. While teaching I attended Wilkes University where I earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Development and Strategies. I have had the privilege to learn new strategies of how to best help students learn and have been able to pass those strategies on to my students to best help them. I not only love math and teaching math, but I equally love working with students. Math tends to be a subject that many students find difficult, and I find it extremely rewarding in helping students not only understand the concepts, but to also develop a love for math. In tutoring students for standardized tests I enjoy focusing on word problems and helping students pick apart the problems to fully analyze and understand what exactly they are trying to accomplish. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My husband, son, dog, and I enjoy traveling whenever we get the opportunity.
