As an avid Outdoorsman, I love skiing, climbing, golfing, and camping. But other than that, I am studying to be a military doctor and am an accomplished tennis player. I have a good amount of experience working with all types of kids in a variety of subjects, and I'm sure I can help you too. I'm really personable and get along well with almost everyone, so don't be shy! Remember, as President Obama said, "Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength."

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

No two students are the same, so there is no magic method. Everybody learns differently.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Get a background on what the student knows regarding the subject, what he/she is struggling with, as well as a feel for the best way the student retains information.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Real-life examples! Show each student that what they are learning has practical applications. Also, I am a huge fan of candy...

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

Tackle it with a variety of different approaches - if you throw a million balls at a target, at least one of them will hit it. After something sticks, practice, practice, practice!
