Educating has been a dream of mine from a very young age. My dad is an educator, and I chose to be a teacher because of him. Working one on one with students and helping them to be confident in their schooling are some of my favorite things about teaching. Each child deserves individualized attention, and that's why I believe tutoring is such an effective method.

In May of 2013, I graduated from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Middle Childhood Education with a focus in mathematics and English. Soon after, I obtained my teaching certificates in Ohio, California, and Illinois (I moved a lot since graduating college). I have been working as a substitute teacher and am currently working in a long-term substitute position at a Charter school in Chicago. In this position, I have been able to work with multiple students with varying accommodations as the special education teacher in first and second grade. This placement has been such a blessing for me, because I am able to work closely with a small group of students and differentiate my teaching to meet the needs of each child.

My favorite subject to tutor is math because I have always enjoyed the subject!

When tutoring, I will focus on providing your child with a caring, individualized approach. I will make sure to get to know your child and include their interests and hobbies in my teaching. I will work closely with parents to come up with positive motivation techniques to keep the child engaged and excited to learn.

Some of my hobbies include baking/cooking, singing, playing guitar, reading, playing with my cat, and playing board games/cards!
