I am a former public school teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District and Para Los Ninos Charter School. I taught 6th grade math, science, language arts, and social studies. In addition to teaching regular school subjects, I have experience teaching standardized test prep. and study skills.
I completed my BA from UC Irvine and MA in Education from UCLA. I received my teacher's credentials from UCLA's Teacher Education Program and completed my research inquiry in teaching mathematics. My best subject is math. I find math and science to be my favorite subjects and they have been since I was in elementary school. I found they came most naturally when I was a student.
Some qualities that best describe me are: patient, open-minded, respectful, trustworthy, and honest. I work well with students, adults, and families.
Some hobbies of mine are playing and watching sports, traveling, spending time with my family and friends, watching movies, and cars and mechanics. What distinguishes me from others is that I was raised in a multicultural environment and am becoming trilingual. I speak English, Vietnamese, and intermediate Spanish.
