I am currently a graduate student at The American University in Washington D.C. enrolled in the MBA/MA in International Affairs dual degree program. I received my Bachelor's degree in International Business and Finance from Florida International University in Miami, FL. Prior to beginning my graduate studies, I had the privilege of teaching and tutoring elementary and middle school students in Miami and Tampa, FL as a certified K-6 instructor, and these are the subjects and grade levels I tutor now as well.
My passion is reading. I absolutely love to read, I enjoyed having the opportunity to share my love with my students and to provide them with a solid foundation in reading and comprehension skills in order to be successful in all other subject areas and in life. I also enjoy teaching math, there are so many creative ways to teach mathematical concepts and create hands - on experiences to make learning fun and more relatable. My mission as an educator was not to just teach, but to inspire my students to aspire for greatness regardless of their current situation or what they may have been told.
As my degrees allude, traveling is another one of my several passions. I have had the privilege of journeying to several countries in Asia, Europe, Central America, and the Caribbean, and it is my desire to continuously add stamps to my passport. When I am not traveling I am dancing, I have been trained in various forms of dance and have been performing since the age of ten. I am an individual who simply enjoys life, but does so with a commitment to service and excellence in everything that I do.
